The Hotel Marvel gives you the best of both worlds – it’s in the laid-back part of Sunny Beach, but it’s close enough to the centre of the resort.
This hotel is pitched up on the quieter side of Sunny Beach, less than a minute’s walk from the beach. Stroll along the promenade for half an hour, and it’ll lead you all the way to the bright lights in the centre of town.
Inside, things have taken a modern turn. Bedrooms have contemporary, chocolate-coloured soft furnishings, while downstairs, the 24-hour bar has funky red and orange seats.

Bad hotel very disappointed
Definitely not going back Well what can we say, we stopped at this hotel two years ago, definitely not the same .We normally go for two weeks it's the sixth time in Sunny beach, this time was not enjoyable, good job we only went for one week. On arrival the guy who booked us in was very miserable. Room was clean, meal times was a night mare, more like a cattle market. The staff were rude and not at all pleasant . Other guests que jumped and nothing was said by the staff. We had to ask staff to clear the tables and even then they weren't wiped over. They took plates away and drink before we had finished with them. We went all inclusive, but the food left a lot to be desired for as it was very hit and miss, and on one occasion a piece of chicken my wife picked was pink in the middle and was obviously not cooked right. Limited staff at the bars which ment long ques , half the time there was no where to sit to have a drink. We had to walk all the way round after five pm to get a drink as on several occasions we were told we could not walk through the restaurant. The bar manager was abnoxtious and miserable and stopped us talking a drink back to the room although it was in plastic cups and there was limited places to sit. The bar area wasn't very clean and had a terrible sewerage smell to it. The pool area left a lot to be desired to, Towels were left on chairs overnight till the following day although there were notices displayed advising management had the right to remove the towels if the beds were not occupied by 10.00am ,total farce, we paid to use sun beds at a nearby hotel Condor, the guy always wished us a good morning and have a nice day. The Marvel hotel advertised entertainment, which was the same daily routine by the staff although they did work hard was repetitive and only catered for the younger generation. Be vary wary of stopping at this place as we definitely won't be going back It advertises a four star but the Palace hotel we have stayed at four times is only a thee star but far more superior and the staff always make you feel welcome which we again evidenced when we ate there last week, which turned out to be the best meal we had eatenMore
Okay, I feel I first must state that I am not an unreasonable reviewer. Myself and my family visited this hotel for two weeks in July on a rare family holiday, the first in 5 years at this point actually. We weren't coming to Bulgaria with sky high expectations as we had visited before and although it is a nice place to visit and good to get away, these types of holidays usually involve getting what you pay for. However, with Marvel being a 4 star hotel I would have expected a lot more. First, the positives - the rooms were really lovely, nice and big, clean and the beds, although not looking too appealing on first arrival, were surprisingly comfortable. The maids did a wonderful job every day and we were really impressed with their service. The hotel is located well for a trip to the beach or to the strip or main shopping area and not too far from the bus to Nessebar or pick up point for various excursions and aquaparks. The pool is nicely sized and clean also but unfortunately here is where the good things stop. In terms of the bad points, as many other reviews also mention, the food and the situation surrounding this is abysmal. We travelled all inclusive and honestly it's so not worth it, just go half board or B&B as we spent most of our time eating out anyway. Most of the food is greasy or not that nice in general, but the meat is alright. There is a grill chef every morning for pancakes or eggs and every dinner for a special grilled meat which is usually delicious. However, the dining room physically just does not have enough seats or space to accommodate everyone, and the hotel was nowhere near full when we were there. One member of the party suffered a day of bad food poisoning from the pork which was also shocking. And most of the guests just don't seem to have any manners at all, cutting in lines and across queues as if you're not even there, standing in a 15 minute queue for the grilled meat to actually be grilled then taking two plates worth of it, it was absolutely unbelievable. One night the special was chicken and I was stood in the queue waiting for it to be ready and despite being the 7th person or so in the queue, all the chicken the chef made on that grill only did about 9 of us as the first woman in the queue, who cut in front of everyone anyway just to get to the grill, took two plate fulls of it, about 20 pieces! And honestly, unfortunately things like that happened all the time it was disgusting. If you love standing in queues, playing roulette with food poisoning and being cut across and treated like you don't exist by other guests then this is the place for you. So most of the time we ended up eating somewhere along the beach instead. Most of the staff are miserable as sin or can't speak English that well so there wasn't too much help available to us, and when one member of our party lost a t-shirt over the balcony, the clothes are collected daily and put into lost and found yet suspiciously that top was collected within 10 minutes of it falling but was not at reception when we later asked. Again, as has been mentioned on other reviews, getting sunbeds was a pain as there isn't enough of those either, nowhere near enough. And there were so many of them crammed in together as it was, people who I am convinced deliberately went out of their way to be irritating, moved and positioned their beds so it was almost an impossible obstacle course to get to the (ridiculously crowded) pool bar and back with drinks. There were three bars in total and one bar that was a paid bar no matter if you were all inclusive, half board etc in the foyer. The other three were in the dining hall itself, an all inclusive bar out by the pool but in the seating area for food and the actual pool bar itself. However, while dinner was on you couldn't just sit out by the all inclusive bar and enjoy a drink, but the pool bar was closed. Most people ended up using the seats outside and buying a bottle of liquor from the nearby supermarket. Don't even get me started on the entertainment. Holiday entertainment tends to be notoriously bad and I am well aware of this but I haven't seen anything like that in my life, it was just awful. Same songs over and over, same weekly timetable and everything done with hardly any enthusiasm or thought, it was terrible. Luckily there are plenty of places down the main street to go, I would definitely recommend Glarus Bar for the quiz followed by bingo and karaoke, won 3 times there! One final complaint would be the lifts. Despite having three of them they were absolutely tiny and took ages to come down and even when they got to your floor, chances are they were full so you had to use the stairs anyway. Thank goodness we were on floor 3 as I think most of my time was spent in the stairwell! Overall, it is a hotel that looks impressive and full of potential as you arrive but the closer you get to it and the longer you stay you start to see that it definitely does not deserve that 4 star rating and you'll probably find yourself demoralised around 4 days in. For the location it's good for a bed but who wants to pay a ridiculous price for a bed?More
Previous reviews say it all, but we wanted to give a realistic review as we have had worse and better than the marvel. Positives Very clean hotel with a lovely reception area. We found staff at the reception to be extremely helpful. rooms were very good, with a lovely view of either the pool area or att he back of the hotel, a view of the hills. Location is excellent with a two minute walk to the front. Negatives Restaurant is a bun fight with the russians, who make up 95% of the visitors, and is geared up to accommodate them. Food is ok in the main. Biggest problem is the panic to try and fit everytihng onto a side plate. It feels like it is everyones last meal they will ever have. Breakfast is awful. They prepare the food at a very slow rate to discourage people queuing/waiting. The executive chef struts round the dining room, and i wanted to grab him and drag him into the kitchen and get some actual work done. No dining room staff to clear tables. The bars have been cleverly designed to make sure you go out of the hotel. Two tiny bars for all inclusive, and a lovely air conditioned bar with wi-fi that i saw two people purchase drinks in the whole week, as it excludes all inclusive. A real joke. The sunbed saga is the worst we have ever encountered, and the one day we decided to use the pool we just removed four towels from beds and sat down. They never appeared all day for their towels. One evening we came back at 1am, and most of the beds were taken, so just removed every towel and left them in a pile, its extremely annoying and selfish. In summary, if you want a cheap all inclusive as a base, and willing to go out in the evenings, then this will suit. If you like to stay in the hotel all week, then avoid this one.More
The Manager met us in the car park, checked us and in took our bags.Just spent five great nights at this terrific hotel in the one room. The rooms were nicely .The beach is super. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back! More
I wasn't expecting too much but definitely it's not 4. The rooms are OK but not the best. The restaurant is very noisy allll the time. The food is horrible. Vegetarians will probably starve 😂. I was doing years ago at Victoria palace nearby Marvel and it's incomparable. Victoria it's waaay better. Over all the food it's the big problem when it's come to Marvel. More
