There's a choice of two huge pools here with wraparound sun terraces dotted with palm tress and plenty of sunbeds and parasols to use. One pool is where the activities take place. The other is the quiet pool, for a little R and R time.
The children's pool is not hard to find, as it's next to one of the main pools. With views over the beach and palm trees spread around for that little extra shade. The lifeguard is also around to help keep an eye on the youngsters.

break with children and Grandchildren
Reasonable size rooms, studio style with Fridge, microwave, cooker, sink. Requested adjacent rooms to help with Autistic Grandson, rooms provided as requested. Breakfast extremely busy after 8-30 until close, waiting for free table or setting up own table 6 of 10 visits. Food of a reasonable standard but shortages of items noticeable as the restaurant became busier, booked half board but did not use evening meal as it did not suit our daily schedule, Pool area very crowded and sun beds reserved wholesale, people without children being selfish and taking many of the beds around the children's pool and shallow area of other pool, presumably it was less far to walk, The Hotel Beach area has sun loungers and umbrellas, we were asked for 15 lev per day( £7) to use 2 beds and 1 umbrella, allegedly half price for Majestic guests, rest of the beach is 15 Lev the same, The Hotel should provide beds on the beach as an alternative to the pool area. We only used the Bar once, extremely overpriced compared with most other Hotels and anything outside a hotel. Thompson changed our flights after booking plus delay meant we did not get evening meal or could not change money on arrival at the hotel as the "change desk" was closed (11PM) same on the street. had to make do with small amount of Lev brought back with us, and a loan from a very nice stranger who we asked to change with. The resort has many reasonably priced bars, family friendly with good service.More
Fantastic Hotel ......... but the reception manager Hristo needs to learn some manners!
Let me start by saying that his is an amazing hotel with all the facilities that you need to enjoy a great holiday and the 1 star rating is specifically related to my experience when checking in and a clear mix-up with our room. You will read below why I have given it one star. One of the reception staff (Hristo I believe his name was) needs to learn how to deal with staff in a more professional way!!!! I can only describe him as the rudest hotel staff member that I have came across in my life! After travelling for 8 hours we arrived at check in around 10pm. Check in was swift and the junior receptionist (not Hristo!) was helpful even offering to arrange for the hotel staff to bring our luggage to our room. However upon reaching our room we discovered that we were given a 1 bedroom apartment with a 'park view' despite paying for an ocean view apartment. We then returned to reception to inform the junior receptionist this was not what we had paid for (clearing showing him the booking voucher and confirmation emails to back this up) and that we would like to be moved the ocean view room we had booked. After 10 minutes of debating with him I asked to speak with his manger who he contacted via telephone. After a further 10 minutes of waiting the reception manager (Hristo) arrived - from his facial expression and body language I could clearly see he was not happy at being called / disturbed from what ever he was doing before-hand. I explained the matter to him and I showed him our hotel booking confirmation which stated ''Ocean View''. He then began raising his voice at me saying that this was only a request and he would not be arranging for us to be moved. At one point I asked 'Can you not read that it states Ocean View on our booking?' upon which he rudely shouted back at me 'Can you not listen! This is not what you have booked!' I replied with my own voiced raised and he then threatened to call security to have me removed from the hotel!!! After another 10minutes of debating with him and showing him the booking agents contact details he contacted them via telephone (which took another 15 minutes to get through to them) who explained to him I HAD booked an ocean view room yet he would still not move us saying the hotel records did not show this despite my confirmation email clearing stating that 'The hotels records have been updated accordingly'. Another couple on our flight were at reception at the same time and were having exactly the same problem! If you pay for something you expect to receive it .............. Hristo clearly does NOT agree!!!!!! After realising we were getting no where both sets of couples asked to speak with his superior who he informed us would not be in until 2 days time. After around an hour of this nonsense we went to the room we had NOT booked exhausted from the travelling and this check-in disaster! We then met with the hotel manager (I believe her name was Ableona) 2 days later and she arranged for us to be moved to an ocean view room within 5-10 minutes of speaking with her .......... although this was a double room and not an apartment that we had booked but as there were only 2 of us with no kids we did not mind taking the smaller room for the sea view room - this downgrading of the room to get an ocean view was my suggestion as a compromise as she said no apartments with sea views were available. I believe the hotel should not double book rooms to avoid this type of problem in the future. The ocean view room we received was on the 10th floor and the view was fantastic. The hotel manager (Ableona) was both professional & helpful and the hotel itself is amazing (special mention to the cleaners who do a fantastic job) but our experience of this hotel was ruined by the rude reception manager Hristo who does not appreciate that first impressions are very important ......... particularly when guests have been travelling for several hours that day! I believe he was simply upset at being disturbed from whatever he was doing before-hand when we asked the junior receptionist to contact him the evening that we checked in! A lesson in manners and common decency is what I suggest he takes before he puts more people off this hotel!More
Anyone who complains about this hotel, I believe are being really really picky. It is absolutely perfect! So the location is amazing, the beach is on the doorstep and there are supermarkets just a short walk away. The main strip of Bulgaria is about a 25-30 minute walk, with a lot to see on the way (including two McDonald's, a subway and a KFC for those drunken nights). It is perfectly located because while the strip is so fun, it is brilliant to be able to get away from the noise after partying. The food in this hotel was out of this world. We went half board and we agreed beforehand we will eat other places too, but we didn't. We stayed and ate in the hotel every evening. It was a huge buffet that changed each day. There was soooooo much food, and it was all delicious! Like crazy nice! Large selection of fruits and salads, hot foods and desserts. I miss it now just thinking about it. The staff are all super friendly and they bring you case to your room upon arrival. They were all very helpful whenever we needed help or asked them anything. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed, including air con, a fridge for water and a safe, which is free to use, to put your belongings in. The shower was hot and powerful. And each day they clean your room, even folding my pjs! I saw a few complaints on here about the animation team...they were fab! They made sure they had entertainment for everyone. Yes there were a few songs with swearing in being played but it's bulgaria! Things are different over there! The kids loved the games they played and there were different every day. They had entertainment every night. Not professionals, but they were hilarious, never laughed so much! So 5 stars from me for the animation team! There was all sorts to do with this hotel including mini golf, tennis, football, water gymnastics. There is also a free gym to use and two pools to have a swim. Everything you need! I would 100% recommend this hotel, the food is great (try a kebab near the pool, they're lush), the service is great, the rooms are clean, it's a perfect location and you'd be a fool to not go here! I'll definitely be back one day! Thank you for our stay! More
Good, but not perfect
Visited beginning of June, 2017 as a family with one teenager. There are so many good points previously mentioned in other reviews - great food, fantastic location, clean rooms and area, great facilities etc. so I won't bore you with all of the great things about this hotel or Sunny Beach ! The real issue I had with this hotel was the animation team - this was not suitable for a family hotel with young children/teenagers. The music sounding over the pool were explicit adult versions with swearing. Also, when invited to participate in one of the games by the animation team, I was told, although an adult joke, that 'if you win the competition, you can have a room for an hour and ' ... sleep with a staff member (tripadvisor rules do not allow the real vulgar and explicit language to be shown and was certainly not for any holiday traveller trying to relax to hear !). Although I am an open minded adult, this would not be expected to be heard from the entertainment team in a family hotel in front of children !! Also, no professional acts for evening entertainment during our visit, somewhat disappointing considering the size of the hotel and number of guests. I personally would abandon the animation team and pay for professional entertainment ! The only other downsides to our experience were minor issues - Poor Wi-fi connectivity, so if you need internet for work, as I do sadly even when on holiday, take a laptop and an ethernet cable as each room has a socket. I did not take a cable, could not buy one locally,so I am unable to confirm this actually works. Secondly, the hotel was VERY busy, as such the service in the restaurant was not as good as expected most evenings with tables not being cleared and not being served drinks with our meals. My wife complained one evening to the reception staff who did nothing but asked us to complain the following day, again poor service. Tip here is to try and dine very early, but not very late and some diners were complaining that little food was available when dining too late. When checking in to the hotel, you are given one of two time slots for dinner, if you are able, I would advise the earlier time slot, unfortunately, we were not offered a choice. Finally, the sofa bed for our daughter was not comfortable and again could be addressed with a simple foam topper ! Overall, with the minor issues considered, I would still recommend the hotel to other travellers as the positives certainly outweigh the small negatives. A little more focus from the hotel management and this would be one of the best hotels anywhere !More
