Guide to Elenite

"Relaxed, friendly and full of fun, Elenite is a purpose-built holiday village that 'does exactly what it says on the tin'."

A neat and well planned holiday village, Elenite offers you on tap relaxation and fun, with a great beach close at hand. Not to mention a good range of shops, restaurants, bars and discos all built in to the complex. You won't be watching the fishing boats return to harbour with the catch of the day or wandering the cobbled streets of a charming 'old town' quarter.

But if you're looking for sun, sea, sand and sports, Elenite fits the bill perfectly. Backed by green meadows, the resort's private beach is sheltered in a quiet bay and offers safe swimming in shallow, clear waters.

The resort itself has a friendly atmosphere, and family-orientated facilities include a central children's club with its own pool. So, Mum and Dad can enjoy some well earned 'chill-out' time without having to keep the little ones amused.

As for getting out and about, there's not much immediately around Elenitie apart from acres of unspoilt countryside. However, head south and you're in Slunchev Bryag, known to the English as 'Sunny Beach', Bulgaria's biggest and most lively holiday resort.

And just a few miles further down the coast is the historic town of Nessebar, with its quaint wooden houses and medieval churches. A thriving port in ancient Greek and Roman times, Nessebar is clustered on peninsula, joined to the mainland by a rocky isthmus and has a picturesque harbour where you can while away some time in a seafront cafe and sip a glass of fruit juice or a Turkish coffee.

The low-rise accommodation in Elenite has been purpose-built using traditional Bulgarian styles. Your accommodation sits in small clusters built into the hillside, with narrow streets and steps running between them to access all areas of the resort. Each cluster is within easy reach of the glorious beach and the other facilities of the resort, including restaurants, shops and a large swimming pool. There's plenty of greenery and flora around the complex, adding to the peaceful ambience. Elenite will suit you if self contained, safe holidays appeal and particularly if you're a family.

Beaches

There is an attractive and well-maintained beach which is private to the resort.

Eating out

Try eating out in the nearby town of Vlas - menus here predominantly feature the national dishes of pork, veal and lamb. The food is generally good value for money as is the local wine, now much in favour in the UK.

Nightlife

Nightlife in the resort is mellow and very easy going; should you be looking for more lively entertainment, regular public transport makes Sunny Beach a good alternative.

Shopping

Shopping in the resort itself is mostly limited to the holiday essentials. However, there are a host of pavement stalls and souvenir opportunities in nearby Sunny Beach. Here genuine local crafts are sold at cheap prices.

Local information

The nearby town of Nessebar, a 2500-year old historic town with cobbled streets and pretty churches is well worth a visit.
