Set on a Bounty-like beach and with a backdrop of tropical greenery, the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa couldn’t be in a better spot. It’s designed to blend in with its surroundingsso rather than chopping down great chunks of jungle they’ve incorporated as much of it as possible into the sprawling gardens. So much so there are ponds filled with flamingos and crocodile pens – wander along the wooden walkways to see it all.

The hotel itself is seriously stylish. Marble floors, pillars and a thatched roof take centre-stage in the lobby, with a supporting cast of leather club chairs and giant church candles. The rooms freckle the grounds in colonial-style villas. Plus they’re all junior suites and come with whirlpool baths as standard. Inside, tiled floors, dark wood furniture and ceiling fans paint a picture of understated elegance. And with their contemporary décor and mood lighting, the eateries are equally as impressive.

As for things to do, the options are endless. The main pool is enormous. Plus the entertainment team are on hand down at the beach and around the pools areas, so there’s plenty in the way of games and competitions to join in with. Not to mention a bumper menu of activities like tennis, football and basketball, in the sports area between Colonial and White Sand Resort. This is also where you’ll find the spa. Home to a gym, sauna and hair salon, it’s one of the biggest wellness centres in Latin America and it does a mean line in pampering treatments.

Last but not least, this luxury hotel shares facilities with sister hotels Grand Palladium Whitesands Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Kantenah and Grand Palladium Colonial Resort. So you can pick and choose the best bits of each and make your holiday one to remember.
