Azul Fives by Karisma

With its beachside location, massive pools, and brilliant kids and teen facilities, this hotel blows its rivals out of the water.

This place is pulled up next to a white beach, so you’re sorted when it comes to sea views. You can stretch out on the sunloungers that face the horizon, or double-up on the four-poster daybeds for two.

Indoors, the bedrooms have a designer feel, with cream décor and dark-wood furniture. Luxe touches come in the form of iPod docks and rainforest showers in the bathroom. You can also upgrade to get an in-room Jacuzzi®.

Great food, even better service

Me and my husband traveled to Azul Fives in Mexico and had an incredible time! The resort was a quick drive from the airport which was nice, as I wanted to be on the beach ASAP!! We called VIP Vacations and asked for Emily as their website shows her as their Mexico expert and she was fabulous! I am so glad for her recommendation as we had the most memorable experience! She got us an upgrade to this incredible One Bedroom Suite with roof access! WOW!! The room is incredible! Lots of space and I felt like a true VIP! The only thing I didn’t like about the room was its location… it was closest to the lobby, but farthest from the pool, restaurants, and beach. It was a bit of a walk from our room to the beach as well, and the golf carts never seemed to be around. Other than that, everything was fabulous! There weren’t a lot of restaurants, but they had a great variety of types of food, which was nice! The beach was beautiful, but there was a really rocky ocean bottom with seashells, so it honestly hurt to walk across them and into the ocean. We mainly hung out by the pool because of this. The service at this property was fabulous, though! Everyone was so friendly and willing to assist us with anything we needed! I would definitely recommend this resort!More

Family friendly!

We had a great time! The trip was just what I needed the staff at Azul Fives was wonderful. The free upgrade was fabulous! The food was very good. I enjoyed having menu options. Being that it was off season, the buffet was only available for breakfast the days we were there. There was lots of remodeling being done so one of the other "grill"restaurant was closed as well. It made it a bit harder for My 7 yr old to find what she enjoyed to eat. They threw a beach party with lobster and bbq on Wednesday night to show appreciation for us dealing with the remodel and upgrades going on! Overall it's a great place.More

From a toddler mother's point of view

We enjoyed our stay from Oct 12 to 19, 2014. We enjoyed so much that I am already planning on our next Azul trip. The following are the records of what we experienced. And as a mother of a toddler, I am going to emphasize on the family friendly aspects of the hotel. Room: I originally booked a deluxe room but later found out that this room did not include a bath tub. Since my son is too tall to be in the baby tub they provided, I upgraded to a one bed room suite that comes with a bath tub. I am glad that I did make the change because the room is very big and separated into two areas (living room and bedroom). This way, when the little one is napping or sleeps early. We can stay in the living room without disturbing the child. Suggestions from a mom in this category: the telephone jack is in the bedroom and this is unfortunately a little inconvenient for us when we want to order room service or talk to the concierge when my baby is sleeping. I talked to the hotel about and this and hope they will make changes next time we are there. Food: The food in general is great! Compared to the other resorts I have been, this is so far the best. Flavour- This is the buffet restaurant and we go to most our breakfast here. Breakfast buffet has a great selection. Dinner buffet is a little weak in selections though.. Sea Olive- We come here for lunch and dinners. We tried almost everything on the menu and we really like the seafood Serviche (Mexican seafood salad). Tsuki- We did not expect much from this Asian restaurant in Mexico. After all, coming from Vancouver, who would want Asian food in Mexico. But it was excellent!! The curry chicken is a must try. My son like the duck spring roll with tamarind sauce. Sushi rice is on the hard side but again it's personal preference. Arezzo- Loved the squid ink risotto. My picky eating son devour the entire plate of mac and cheese from their kitchen. Palmar bar - this little joint we often come for a light lunch after swimming. Again the fish Seviche are the must try and all the burgers are great! The beach grill was under renovation while we were there so we did not have a chance to go. There was a beach bbq every wed night serves lobster and bbq meats. The ambience is very good except there are a lot mosquitos at night at the beach. My son got bitten all over his body. For those who wants to go with little ones, please be aware of this. All the restaurants are equipped with high chairs and children's menu. I ordered what we eat for my son most of time though. After all, I do want him to experience different cuisine as much as possible. We are not heavy drinkers but their wine and cocktails are of great qualities. Suggestions from a mother in this category: plastic cup and cutlery should be provided for young children. I had to ask every time we are in the restaurant because the water glass is too heavy for a toddler to hold. I had to bring my own utensils for my son but it would be nice if hotel can provide these. Pool/beach: Loved the infinity pool. My son was very scared of sand so we stayed at the pool most of the time. Beach toys and floating toys for children are available upon request at the towel desk. they even provided sun creams if you forget your own. Entertainment: We did not go much because we had to retreat early in the evening. But from what I heard, there is always something to do every night. I love the water aerobic at noon for that this is the only activity I can go with a toddler. Kids Club: This is a good hotel for younger children. A room filled with fisher price toys and MY GYM equipment. My son had so much fun. You can also take the toys back to your room through their toy lending programs without extra charge. My toddler is too young to be in their kids program but we did sat together in a cookie decoration session one time and we had fun. Service: This is the greatest point of my stay. Whenever and whatever I needed something or needed something to be done, I just called. And the problem is often resolved within minutes. Air condition too cold; toddler wet the bed in the middle of night; needed extra towels....etc. I was very happy with their service. Baby amenities: Very important for us moms. They have all the amenities you need: bottle warmer, bottle sterilizer, high chairs for in room feeding, baby bath tub, step stool, training toilet seat, and a baby monitor...I have traveled with my son for many times and so far this is only hotel provides such detailed amenities for infant/toddler. My son is out of the baby food phase but I know that they also make baby food for you if you asked. To sum up, a clean, upscale hotel caters to family with young children which I would like to recommend to my friends and will want to come back in the future.More

AMAZING!! The best holiday!

I have to be honest I am not one to write reviews however on this occasion I felt it absolutely necessary and I need to share with everyone how truly amazing this hotel was! We spent two weeks at the azul fives at the beginning of October and both my boyfriend and I agree it was one of the best holidays we have had. From the second we arrived we were greeted with nothing but smiles and V.I.P treatment. There is so much about this hotel that I could talk about from the great modern decor to the yummy food all of which was truly amazing however what stood out for us both more than anything were the staff. I don't think in the entire two weeks we had to ask for anything nor did we walk past a member of staff that wasn't smiling, friendly and welcoming. The service in all the restaurants was outstanding, your glass was never empty and the food was simply fantastic with so many amazing options on the menus. One particular staff member Octavio in the sea olive restaurant was very efficient and always looked after us greeting us with a big smile every day (he is very good at recommending wines for your meal had it spot on every time!) oh and would 100% recommend the dinner on the beach well worth it! The pool bar team were amazing we never went without. I have never been somewhere where you will be sunbathing on the beach with drinks being brought over to you all day! A great selection of cocktails and the spirits are all well known brands not cheap alternatives. After a few days they knew our names and if we were swimming in the pool or down in the sea I would come back to my sunbed where my favourite cocktail would be waiting ready for me! Top service and so friendly, so thank you to Santiago, yaidra, Jose ,Cessna and all the bar staff. The entertainment team were fantastic! So much fun and really made the holiday Diego, Alex and Manuel were amazing they have so much energy and are so happy all the time even if you didn't want to get involved all the time they would still just come over and have a chat with you really nice guys you can have a laugh with. The pool porters were great I have to say another amazing feature of this hotel every morning Hersen would greet us with a big smile and Hola! Grab us fresh towels and take us to any spot we wanted and set us up for the day , if you got a bit hot in the mid day sun he would be there with an umbrella for you . All the staff were so friendly and efficient nothing was ever too much trouble at all and always service with a smile. We never really like to return to a place once we have been but we both agree we would 100% return to Azul fives Mexico again as it was an forgettable experience and far surpassed our expectations. So take no notice of the few poor reviews on this resort because it truly is a superb hotel and you will not be dissapointed. Note: An upgrade from a room to a pool villa is worth every penny, there is a full size American fridge which is kept fully stocked every day with beers and champaign, a massive kitchen with breakfast bar, a stunning bedroom area with super king bed and jacuzzi, a living area with large corner sofa and huge TV! Almost too much space for two people!More
