WHEN TO GO
Temperatures in the Caribbean range from hot to even hotter – the mercury on these islands tends to hover in the high 20s even in the winter. Summertime in the more northerly islands – Jamaica and the Dominican Republic – gets even hotter, with temperatures climbing into the 30s. Summer is also when you’ll see the most rain, although it tends to come in short, sharp bursts in the afternoon or evening. Hurricane season falls between June and November, but severe storms are pretty rare, and Aruba sits completely outside the hurricane belt.
