This being my 3rd visit to this hotel, I visit Barbados twice a year April/May 10 days -September 1 month only ever staying in two hotels more than once so with this in mind it goes without saying what a super hotel it is, very very helpful staff, clean and welcoming, this visit I came with a friend her first visit to BIM we stayed in a pool side room through choice as I have stayed in a poolside room two years ago no problems at all certainly did not hear any noise at night (kept bathroom door shut) Stayed in a delux room last September also a great room. This last visit tide was very high and sea was a tad rough so did no more than paddle but pool kept lovely and clean so wasn't a problem and when we wanted to bath in the sea we went further up the coast. I can not recommend this hotel enough for a budget hotel it gives you 5* treatment ! Will I stay here again ? You bet close to good restaurants and bars what more could you want ð More
Excellent budget hotel
We booked a delux ocean appt and were very happy when we were shown the room. Lovely and clean, kitchen with all the necessary things, kettle, toaster, small but adequate fridge (tiny freezer). We had a massive bed or in some of the rooms you get 2 doubles. One thing we chose this hotel for was that you could guarantee an ocean view by booking a certain accomodation type. Unfortunately after a day or two, the building noise coming from next door (the south gap hotel being refurbed) had become too much for us and we asked if we could move rooms. Luckily there was another room available and we were happily moved into 414 which we were very happy with as the noise was virtually non existent here. We know it wasn't the hotels fault but they were very good in moving us. One thing though, we think this room had not been used for a little while as it was quite musty and we noticed many many little tiny insects in various places. A can of crawling insect spray from the supermarket sprayed at various places every so often put paid to them and we were quite happy to stay in this room. It's the tropics so you're going to get a few bugs. Having said that we only saw 2 mosquitoes in our whole time there! However, the mosquito candle still had a use, the Barbados Bullfinches loved to sit on the candle and eat the wax (for some unknown reason!). We also had 2 doves make a nest in our balcony light so we couldn't use the lights in our time there!! Anyway, great service by the young man (sorry didnt get your name) when we arrived and Ryesha was also very helpful when we dared to try the buses. There is a lot of noise from the gap but just take ear plugs. We loved the security guard having a quick beer, very Bajan! The hotel and grounds and pool were lovely and clean, the only thing i would want improving is the sun loungers, many were past their best and not very nice to the eye. There were plenty though and not many people did the old trick of reserving them. A nice change to the med! A lovely beach is attached and although small, does what a beach should do!! We must thank the hotel for giving us a celebratory bottle of wine for our anniversary, many thanks. We would definitely return to this hotel, what a wondeful island, wish we were there now.More

Appartment is ok but...
When booking at Rostrevor, you must know what you will get: A spacious appartment with modern kitchen, large living and nice terrace, large room and bathroom. The whole thing is clean and if not latest design, overall ok. The hotel faces the ocean so if you have a sea view as most of the rooms have, it's great. Now it's not located in an enchanted garden, the surroundings are urban with several restaurants and noisy night life. So you must be aware and conscious of the style of vacation you want to spend...More
Old school hotel!
Great customer service! I have stayed here a few times and really like the property. I really prefer to have my room near the poor because it is more peaceful at night when you have been out all day and night. The pool is great ! I would highly recommend taking the water aerobics or going to the gym.More
