2nd time here.still a good trip..one small incident tho
This was our second visit here and it was enjoyable as expected. Our flight reached early, and got an early check in (but no room available til 3pm). Food was thoroughly enjoyable as well.. Special thank you to the staff at Pacifika (Shakeel and Sanchia) for the ultra efficient and friendly service. Only downside is the birds inside Cocopatch restaurant during lunchtime..can be distracting from enjoying their food. Night life was markedly increased this time around..events everynight kept the place lively (last time the resort looked deserted by 8pm). Hope this continues. Room service and overall guest services was friendly and good. Beach and the broadwalk was spectacular as always..nice walks in the morning. Only bad experience was the fire at 1:40am and the evacuation. Expected to see staff at strategic points guiding guests to the muster point.. but no one was around until ppl reached the lobby.. both disappointing and disturbing. Also, the one staffer shouting at guests standing across the road about order and basically arguing with others showed abit more evacuation/safety training is really needed. Oddly enough, after that incident, guests were not given any sort of coupon/comp.. just a letter under our door about the incident. Accra, one point about international hotels/resorts: any small incident that inconveniences guests should result in some sort of compensation (voucher or something) to help keep your guests happy and appreciative.. which results in high ratings...which is invaluable. overall, was very happy with our stay.More
Holiday resort starting to show its age
I stayed at Accra Beach whilst on business in Barbados. Very much a holiday resort, but OK when on business. Reception is a bit inefficient, as check-in took a long time and whenever needing reception, always had to queue. The room was spacious but the bathroom pretty small. Breakfast staff were friendly and food was OK. Would stay again. Location close to many restaurants was useful.More
Just a little consideration for those in your care goes a long way
Earlier this month i travelled to Barbados with my mom 74 and 3 boys aged 11, 8 and 2. For the most part the staff are lovely. We were returning from a cruise and i really needed a rest so decided to overnight at the hotel. Well i got in and found a very rickety, barely functioning ac unit in the room. It took 4 calls to the front desk to get a tech to the room. They too were very courteous and 2 hours after the initial call i was just happy to be serviced. Well that was child's play compared to the fire that broke out at 1:30ish. Noting that i had a 7 o'clock pick up, it was incredulous that on check out there was not even an acknowledgement of the inconveniences of the past 12 hours. I wrote to the hotel to say that for a resort of such long standing...this was really distasteful but again, to date no acknowledgement. My summation is simply that my business is not worth your time...this message is acknowledged by me and hopefully i will not have to use your "services" going forward. More

We were greeted by lovely and friendly staff, they held activities at the hotel to keep guest entertained. We even won a voucher on one of the nights,my husband got a wine as it was his birthday. I truly enjoyed the accra that was distributed but was unable to get it at the breakfast cafe the next morning though, there was no dipping sauce. But it was truly amazing, we even got a crib/play pen for our son. I enjoyed to curry night it was different from what im accustom to but tasted great.More
Fire alarms going off at 2am/erroneous booking!!!
I specifically just my created my TripAdvisor account just so I can rate this sorry excuse of a resort and yes I'm here right now as I write this review. We (me and four other friends) booked an all exclusive trip in this dump and when We got here found out they don't do all Inclusive! They're literally giving us the run around and have done nothing to rectify the situation. brought enough cash just for excursions (since I was initially told my food and drinks were a part of my package) and now most of my money is gone because I have had to spend a ton eating out and buying drinks! I travel at least 5 times a year for vacation and this is by far the absolute worse resort I've dealt with. Their service is way beyond lackluster! I didn't bring toothpaste and mouthwash knowing that this would be something the hotel provides, when I call the concierge she told me "those amenities aren't provided sir"!!!! What????? Just when I thought this trip couldn't get worse, at 2am, the alarm started going off...apparently there was smoke in a part of the building and folks were running a mock trying to understand what was going on in their pajamas. You would think with all this at least a free meal or something would be provided to better the situation....? Nope The staff is so rude! The bartender by the name of frank is so dismissive! It's as if I was bothering him when I was ordering my drinks. The island itself is awesome but Accra needs to take a page out of AM resorts or the hiltons and find out how things are really done! I'm not done writing these kind of reviews!! Whichever other sites I need to go to and post pictures and videos of what you guys put me through, I will do just that!!! Last time We will ever stay here but I'll definitely be back in Barbados!!More
