With a beachside location and ocean-front deck and pool, the Butterfly Beach has definitely been designed with relaxation in mind.
Impressive views are easy to come by at the Butterfly Beach – it’s bordered by impossibly white beaches and turquoise waters. Plus, a ten-minute walk will take you to the little village of Oistins.
The hotel’s interiors are smart and contemporary. Take the bedrooms – they’re dressed in confetti-coloured pastels, and come with extras like air-conditioning and balconies.

Fabulous as always
Sitting in the airport lounge waiting for our flight home and already planning our return to Butterfly Beach! This was our third visit in three years and loved every minute of it. Barbados is a fabulous island with fantastic people and culture. I will not repeat my reviews from previous visits as every word is still the same. What I will say though is that this hotel is excellent value for money if you want something that is ideally located hotel and is different to the usual run of the mill hotel that could be anywhere in the world. This place has character and bundles of it. Beautiful beaches and turquoise seas. But what makes this hotel is the people that work there. Housekeeping, security, maintenance and front of house and to the fabulous people who work in the Reef bar and grill, what can I say. I will not name you all for fear of missing someone out but every single one of you made our holiday even more enjoyable and we so look forward to seeing you again in the near future! We will be back for many years to come and hopefully next year. Until then ........More
No faults - wonderful location - ð
First impressions when we arrived at the hotel; The reception was clean and the staff were very welcoming, they greeted us with a glass of non alcoholic punch .. refreshing after an 8 hour flight! Our room: Our room 101 was on the ground floor with a mixed view - through a large window on the terrace you could see the swimming pool and sea in the background. We were close enough to hear the waves. Terrace backed out onto a lovely communal garden - palm trees & variety of birds visiting us. In the room we had a small kitchenette (middle sized fridge/small freezer, hob top, kettle, sink , lots of cutlery and equipment) we only used the kettle & fridge as we were half board. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Lots of wardbrobe space for 2 and plenty of storage. Decent sized safe for a small fee (we managed to get laptop, 2ipads and other things inside it), free air-conditioning & large ceiling fan too. The maid serviced the room daily at an excellent standard. Food & drink ð¹: The breakfasts were the best!! So much choice and everything tasted so good - help yourself/buffet style. Lunches were the Same every day (typical holiday snack types - chips, BLT club sandwhiches, chicken sub etc) Evening meals were a different theme every day - pastas , chicken/steaks, fish, BBQ. Good entertainment. Never found a fault concerning the meals or drinks ! Communal areas: Plenty of spaces to sunbathe, clean swimming pool, 3 whirlpools, access to the beach ( we woke up early most mornings - went for a swim at 6:30am) the sea is pretty calm - I'm not a strong swimmer and I was fine. Free water to be taken in plastic cups from the bar unlimited which was great as it's so hot ! Throughout our holiday we noticed there is 24hour security around the perimeters which reassured us - although the location of the hotel is quiet compared to some other areas we visited. Nice to feel safe and secure. Overall the hotel was fantastic. All the staff were happy, friendly and Very helpful. Thank you butterfly beach hotel for having us. More
Good value for money
The hotel and rooms werr as expected, not too far from the airport with good beach access. The staff without exception were helpful and friendly. I have stayed at 5 other properties in Barbados and I was really comfortable at this hotel and would stay here again.More
Lovely, more traditional hotel
We had a lovely 2 weeks at Butterfly Beach. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is very well maintained and cared for. The staff are all really pleasant, from reception through to the security guards. We went with Thomson's and booked half board. We had looked at previous reviews and wasn't sure what to expect. To save any confusion, here's what you get. Breakfast, both Continental and full English. On Continental, there is a choice of sliced bread, pastries, cheese, cereal and fruit, two types of fruit juice. English (ingredients are very good too), there is bacon, sausage, beans, eggs (either fried, scrambled, poached, omlete) but you can request they are cooked to order, potatoes and tomatoes, plus an extra Bajan dish, plus tea and coffee. Evening meal is al la carte, so there is a choice of starter, mains and dessert, which is always well cooked and delicious. Meals are served in the Reef restaurant, the menu is changed daily and there are was two buffet nights. We also had a free drink included. You can change evening meal for lunch, where there is a great snack menu too. The hotel is ideally located between St Lawrence and Oistins, both are in walking distance. There is a supermarket if you turn right out of the hotel towards Oistins. There is a bus stop nearby, plus the reggae bus which you have to flag down. All are 2 Barbadian dollars per ride, you do need the correct change on the blue bus. You can get round most of the island on the bus, we went to Bridgetown, Bathsheba, then on to Speightstown and back to the hotel, it took most of the day, but only cost only 16 B.D. for both of us (approx. £7). There is a good jazz band on Thursday night on St Lawrence gap at The Olde Jamm Inn, starts about 9.30pm (half price rum too). If you want to go on holiday to get away from it all and chill out, Barbados is the place to go. If you want a super posh hotel, stay at the Hilton and pay double. If you want a hotel with friendly staff, a warm atmosphere and good food, stay at Butterfly Beach. With special thanks to Karen in the restaurant, who always had something amusing to say!!More
1st time visit to Barbados
Had a really good holiday at this hotel and from check in to check out all the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in 409 on a room only basis, which was the top floor and the closest part of the hotel to the main road, but never had a problem when having a cuppa on the balcony or sleeping at night. The room itself was huge and the bed was the biggest I have slept in! The kitchenette was fine and enough for making yourself breakfast etc. The bathroom was dated but there was always hot water for a shower the entire 2 weeks of our stay. When you check in remember to pay for the safe in your room. The pool area was lovely and there was always plenty of beds and umbrellas and there were lots of other areas for sunbathing away from the pool. The beaches either side of the hotel were spotless and very easy for swimming. We had lunch a few times and one of the buffet nights and the food was good. Free rum punch on the managers welcome each Monday and happy hour was 12-1 and 5-6 daily. The roti shop next door was spot on for a quick bite for lunch. Its a 15min walk to Oistins and the fish fry on Friday night was great! We walked there and back both times with no problems ( its open every day not just Friday) If you are through there during the day there is an excellent deli next to the surfers cafe. Bar1 across the road does a cracking pie and chips in the evening⺠and 3 banks beers for $12bd There's no need to walk to st Lawrence gap when the reggae taxis only cost $1 us\$2bd and you just flag one down outside the hotel (number 3d or 11) tell the guy where you want off the first time or when you see cafe Sol at the start of the gap. They run till about midnight but later than that you need a taxi back $20 bd. Stay on the reggae bus and it takes you through to Bridgetown for same price! You are not allowed to bring any duty free into Barbados and you're not allowed to wear any camouflage shorts/tops/hats - weird but true!!More
