With a beachside location and ocean-front deck and pool, the Butterfly Beach has definitely been designed with relaxation in mind.
Impressive views are easy to come by at the Butterfly Beach – it’s bordered by impossibly white beaches and turquoise waters. Plus, a ten-minute walk will take you to the little village of Oistins.
The hotel’s interiors are smart and contemporary. Take the bedrooms – they’re dressed in confetti-coloured pastels, and come with extras like air-conditioning and balconies.

I would say that this hotel is very average on all aspects. We stayed late August for 5 nights. If we had not paid an extra 200 pounds for a sea view I would have hated it. The standard of the room was only ok, the bar and restaurant area not very inviting although we never ate there, only drinks. The beach also was very small and when the tide was in you couldn't use it. My daughter stayed at Worthing beach which was a bus ride away and that was beautiful and also her hotel was far more superior so spent our time around there. Oistins was quite a walk away or a bus ride and was the nearest place to eat however there was't much there other than the fish stalls which were very quite apart from Friday night it when it was really full for the fish fry. We did feel there was nothing around and felt a bit lost, maybe the time of year as well. Even St Laurence Gap was very quite and a lot of places closed or empty. The staff on the whole were friendly and on Monday night mingled with guests at the welcome party and we enjoyed complementary rum punch and fish cakes . Sorry to sound negative but it's just how I found it.More
Can't fault it. Clean and tidy room, friendly people. It has a pool, it's literally right on the beach and is a regaee bus ride from the fun spots! I've read negative reviews but if you want a high end hotel, bugger off to Sandals! We'll definitely be going back 😊More
Good Hotel, uninteresting location
We spent two days here while waiting for a flight back through Miami after Irma (finally got out via WestJet to Toronto!). Room was adequate, A/C OK but struggled. Small restaurant and bar OK with adequate food and selection, and great service. Waitress Jennifer was. the. best. Could not really walk to anything; had to take taxis/buses. We'd stay there again for a night or two, but not for a week, I think.More
Beach, Sun & Rum
Our second trip to Barbados - all be it 8 years on and we decided to try the Butterfly after reading some decent reviews on Trip. For a budget hotel it didn't disappoint. Lets set the record straight with some negatives previously mentioned.... yes there are some building works going on down the beach but noise levels were miminal and the hotel cannot be blamed for this. The hot tubs are cool Whirlpools and as far as l am aware are not advertised as hot. We found the hotel staff in general to be polite and friendly although one senior person serving in the restaurant could have broken into a smile in two weeks. Hotel Positives: Quiet and laid back Happy hour twice a day 12 - 1 & 5 - 6 (2 for 1 on selected cocktails & beers) Managers welcome party every Monday free fishcakes and free rum & fruit punch Excellent customer service - had a problem with our safe and cooker and both were sorted quickly Deborah - Excursions lady and works in the shop knows absolutely everything about the island and l enjoyed chatting with her most days, she is an absolute star Clean hotel Nice pool Gorgeous beach and views towards Oistins Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas Reasonably priced menu and daily specials Nice clean room with balcony sea view comfortable bed, nice flat screen tv and air con Good security How would they improve the hotel? Provide free beach towels for entire stay not much cost for this, vary the cocktails in happy hour after 2 weeks drinks got very repetitive although we liked the rum punch, and be a little more flexible on the menus yes sometimes it would be nice to have the option of a bar snack instead of a meal from the set menu. The kitchenette is tiny and could have a bigger sink, work surface and oven, the rooms are large enough to make this area a little more user friendly. Things to do: Visit the Roti shop next door yummy Don't be afraid to use the $2 buses to get around l went all the way to Speightstown an hour away for 80p Hire a car for a few days and explore the island at your own pace, watch out for the potholes! Let me assure you, you will get lost and argue all part of the fun, the signage is pretty poor tbh but it will test your map reading skills Go to Foursquare Rum Distillery walk round and buy some spiced rum Experience the pink sand of Crane Beach Go to Bathesheba and watch the surfers battle the mighty surf Have a meal in the Fisherman's pub in Speightstown Visit St Nicholas Abbey and take the tour buy some unique rum if you can afford it! Drive back over Cherry Tree Hill AMAZING views of the West coast Take a trip on a catarman good value for money as well as snorkelling and sightseeing you have unlimited drinks and a nice lunch On the way home treat yourself to some Mount Gay XO rum from duty freeMore

Hotel is ideally located for ease of travel around the island. A wonderful outlook over the sea and a small beach which can be used by hotel residence. The hotel is a bit tired and in need of some refurbishment but everything you need is there.I understand the hotel is to have some major work done next year (2018). The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff are a little bit slow though on sorting things out, we did have some issues with AC system, safe and WC. Was sorted eventually, but regretfully no great urgency. For those on room only, there is convenience store just over the road and a couple bars close by. Most other location would be best taken by local transport, especially on an evening, as it is not particularly pleasant walk, but is walk-able. The busses run very regular and have a one price charge of 2 Barbadian dollars and taxi are also easily available for a little more. Oistin's fish fry is held every Friday and Saturday evening is a must, with food and entertainment, this is only a 5 minute bus journey from the hotel. Then for an evening out, try the bars and restaurant at St Lawrence Gap. The island is a chilled out relaxing place, so if you wish to relax and chill out then I would recommend it. If you are after a 18-30s party life forget about it. Do try the trips to the plantation house, Cherry Tree Hill, Swimming with turtles, harbour lights, Harrison cave and monkeys. Also take a trip Bridgetown, Holetown and Speightstown and if you fancy something very swanky at a very swanky price. The Cliff restaurant is an experience to have, fine dining at a cost. 2 courses for 265 BBD and cocktails at 30-50 BBD. There is a drinks list online for this restaurant but the prices are wrong, they are double of that list. Bottle of wine will likely be in excess of 100 BBD. The view is fantastic though as is the food.More
