TripAdvisor reviewers really rate this Bridgetown hotel – it’s on a white-as-snow beach, and comes with a suntrap pool and restaurants serving tasty local food.
A long, sandy beach fronts the Radisson Aquatica. Sunloungers line the talc-white sands, which are washed by waters made for snorkelling. And there’s a pool just above the beach.
The hotel follows the island’s signature rainbow-bright style. From the outside, it’s all sunshine yellow and sea blue. Indoors, meanwhile, lime green feature walls are offset by orange soft furnishings.

Our stay was fabulous
My family and I spend 4 days at the Radisson Hotel, it was such a wonderful stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was on point, hats off to the chef, we will definitely visit again.More
It was simply the best. The staff was natural, polite, generous, likeable, staff-worthy. I've never stayed at a hotel where they offered minted cold towels on arrival :-). Keep that up! The room was just right. We enjoyed the view and also the rum cake along with the welcome card was warming. Awesome!More
What a nice location!
Great location-right on the best beach around! calm waters, great service -clean suite and great stuff! I got this hotel and our airfare thru a Radisson contest but I did choose the location (among any hotel in the Americas) I wanted to go to. Excellent choice and my fiance feels the same! We did not have any meals at this hotel - found it quite expensive for the value!More
Best Beach Location
My Wife and I arrived in Barbados on American Airlines from Miami for a week stay at the Radisson. The airport was easy to navigate. Immigration was efficient, baggage claim was easy and customs was a quick conversation before exiting the airport. There was a taxi stand just outside where we secured a taxi to the Radisson. The fare was $23 US before tip. They drive on the left side of the road and there are a lot of roundabouts so the ride was confusing. It took about 20 minutes to get to the Radisson. We arrived at 3pm. I was greeted by a bellman who took our bags and led us to the open air lobby which is compact. The gals at the front desk were pleasant and accommodating. We were told that our room was not yet ready and we were given a rum punch and a chilled towel while we waited in the lobby lounge area. We had called and e-mailed a few days prior to arrival requesting an ocean-view room on a high floor which is what we thought we booked on the Hotel Website a few months earlier. About 15 minutes passed and we were presented with our keys and the bellman who had our luggage. We were assigned room 705 which is a corner room on the top floor of the hotel looking north towards Bridgetown. Rooms on the other side of the hotel overlook the pool / beach area and the Hilton Hotel next door. The room was small, but had been recently renovated. The bathroom was also small but had dual sinks along with a tub/shower combo. There is not a lot of storage in the room so we had to be creative as to where to put the suitcases and our various clothes. Small refrigerator and hotel-style single cup coffee maker was included which was nice. Replacement coffee and two 500ML bottles of water were provided daily. King sized bed was firm and comfortable. Flat Screen TV had pretty good channel selection with various US network affiliates and ESPN among other popular cable channels so that was a bonus. The rooms did not have a lot of spare electric outlets, but I had one of those travel multi USB/outlet power strips so we had enough power options for our various electronic devices. The room’s most glaring shortcoming was the in-wall A/C unit which was unable to sufficiently cool the room and was excessively loud. I was able to cool the room to a little less than 80 degrees near the bed as we dozed off which is too warm for my tastes. As I found a couple of mosquitos in the room the first couple of days, leaving the doors open at night was not a viable option for us. The A/C also leaked quite a bit of water on the floor of the room. I learned not to step too close to it after getting wet feet! The view from the room was nice as the corner rooms have 2 balconies. The larger of the balconies had 2 wicker chairs and a wicker table. They were nice and light and not noisy when being moved around which is smart. We had a sweeping shoreline view with a private yachting club next door and open beach just beyond that for a couple of miles. If you walk for about 1 mile North you will come upon some restaurants (like Lobster Alive) and some beach bars. Also some very calm waters in that area if you like your ocean like bath water. We were given a code for the hotel Wi-Fi and it worked good for 3 devices. Since we had 4 devices, we asked the front desk if we had any options and we were provided with another Wi-Fi code for our 4th device. We were impressed with the no hassle customer service on that issue. All in all we were very pleased with the room. It was probably the best room they had to offer and we appreciated the opportunity to enjoy it. The hotel has 2 eating establishments on site. The open air hotel restaurant/bar and the Neptune’s beach grill. Unfortunately, the beach grill was being renovated during our stay, so all on site food had to be secured at the hotel restaurant which offered the Neptune’s Grill menu for lunch. We found service in the restaurant to be pleasant and efficient for dinner, but slower for lunch. . Set your watch to island-time and you’ll be ok! We had a buffet dinner our first night which was very good and the beach BBQ on Thursday night was served right on the beach with tiki torches, lapping waves and your feet in the sand. It was also a buffet, but drink service at the table was prompt and efficient. The steel one man band was a nice touch and made for a pleasant tropical dinner. Both of these buffet dinners were ~$100 US after drinks and tip so it was not cheap, but we liked the many food options and felt like the price was worth it. I should mention that the dinner check is in Barbados Dollars and quite confusing as they list the service charge and tax as “informational” line items below the actual amount due but before the gratuity line. Look carefully. The conversion rate is $2 Barbados: $1 US, so $20 Barbadian is only $10 US. The beach area is small, but big enough for the hotel which has 124 rooms. The water is calm in front of the Radisson so it is OK for all except maybe small toddlers. Water felt like about 80 degrees. You can walk about 5 minutes South from the Radisson so there is plenty of space in the water even on a busy day. We typically came down at 11:30 each day and we got a couple of lounge chairs under an umbrella on all but 1 day. One day we found that our stuff had been moved by a large group from the UK. They apparently wanted the umbrella to shade their pale skin from the sun. It was a classless move which we reported to the beach attendant who was very customer oriented named Ezra. He went and got an umbrella and 2 lounge chairs from the back and set them up right in front of the water for us. I happily gave him a gratuity for his quick remedy of the situation. His demeanor and counsel were exactly what we needed to hear. In an ironic twist, he confronted the same group the next day for doing the same thing to another couple and kicked them out of the chairs and umbrella they stole. Ezra was our hero! Bravo. Watersports and another beach bar named Dippers are located steps from the Radisson beach area. Cuz’s Fish Stand is a few steps beyond that about a 2 minute walk from the Radisson. Both provided a nice change from the hotel lunch offerings. Both were excellent value for money and I can recommend them. On days when Cuz’s Fish Stand was not open there was a Jamaican Grill food truck and another vendor selling food. We did not try them, but the aroma of the food was very tempting. One night we grabbed a cab to a restaurant named Mama Mia for some pizza and Italian food. Cab was $10 each way and food was very good. About a 10 minute easy walk from the Radisson is the Hilton. The Hilton is much larger and has a big beach resort feel as it has several restaurants, entertainment most nights and a vast pool / beach area. We ate a few meals over there for lunch and dinner and had excellent food and service each time. They have a nice steak house named The Grille which had quality food and service. We also ate at their beach / pool bar and their late night Careenage Bar which lists hours until 1am! Do yourself a favor and stroll over to the Hilton to see what they offer as it is a nice addendum to the Radisson. Between the 2 hotels they have everything covered. Radisson with A+ beach and Hilton with A+ resort facility. We had a 3pm flight home so we asked the hotel for a late check-out at 1PM which they happily obliged for us. I received excellent customer service from all Radisson staff encountered on this vacation: Trisha in Sales who accommodated our room request via email; Sabrina at front desk check in; Winston, the friendly bellman; Sharmay and Cheryl, in housekeeping; and Ezra, beach and poolside services. Making our stay comfortable and memorable was their mission. Thank you Radisson. Mission accomplished!More
