8 days of luxury.
My partner and I visited thailand for the first time this year due to a family wedding. The second week of our stay was at the marriott, in a ground floor room with garden and pool access. This was ideal as there was no need to pack a bag to go sit by the main pool, just straight out of your room and into the water. Lots of shade in the garden. Would have preferred a sun lounger to the cabana (four poster bed with all the trimmings. What's that all about.) But that's a personal opinion. The room was lovely and kept very clean by the staff. As we stayed at end of season, the hotel was very quiet. We liked this but it wouldn't suit everyone. The location is situated on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty. (Sinart national park.) This was very useful as the nearest village is North of the resort and we were able to walk under the shade of the trees to get there instead of on the beach under the scorching sun. The village has lots of good restaurants, massage, mini markets and gift shops. The people there are friendly and if you say no to anything, they smile and wish you a good day. Haven't visited in the evening but would guess it rocks. Any other travel needs a taxi. Always book through reception. They are outstanding and will do everything in their power to help you organise days out, arrange taxis and price in advance. Taxis much cheaper this way. Food is top class in both restaurants on resort. All staff make you feel as if you are the most important guest in the hotel. Nothing is to much trouble. By nature, the majority of Thai people are kind and caring but this is the Buddhist way. Western culture can learn a lot from them. Smiling at strangers and getting a smile in return makes everyone feel better. Special thanks to all staff in reception. Breeze, mai, joey and jiw and tor in restaurant. We can't wait to see you all again. Bless you all. Chez and Andy killickMore
Spa is superb, and highly recommended
A good hotel - clean, lots of pleasant pools and a super quick laundry service. The seafood restaurant is good, but the bar food a little disappointing ... hence the 4/5 score. The Spa is superb, and highly recommended. Close to the airport (a 500 baht taxi) but far enough away that there is no noise whatsoever.More
We traveled with 2.5 year kid. Everything was perfect. Breakfast was exceptional. In the evening dinner was served in the restaurant. We also liked a pool and a play room for kids. Cons: Beach closed to the hotel isn't really fit for swimming. There is a complimentary shuttle that takes to Nai Yang village twice a day. Our room had an door connecting to another room. It wasn't soundproof, we heard other guests watching TV late at night. More
Very nice Resort&Spa hotel
I think the hotel and pool is very nice, but the beach and the ocean is not so good for children's. The hotel employees are very friendly and helpful. We had a hotel Limousinenservice for our airport transfer (one way 600,-)More
Beautiful resort has everything that you are looking for!
A bit far from everything but it is not a problem if you rent a car. As a Marriott platinum member, we got upgraded to a villa which is fabulous and strongly recommended. The breakfast buffet is something to look forward to every morning from traditional Thai noodle soup to fresh tropical fruits. The beach is not the best in the area but it is peaceful and relaxing. We absolutely will come back! More
