This hotel has a VIP feel – it’s only accessible by boat, and its other-worldly surroundings look like a set from Leonardo Di Caprio’s The Beach.
The Centara Grand Beach Resort And Villas Krabi sidles up to a secluded beach, where the bone-white sands are lapped by bright-turquoise waters. The limestone karsts dotted offshore add to the postcard-worthy vistas.
Rooms combine traditional Thai style with modern features. You can choose between ocean-view rooms, couples’ suites and private villas. Some of the rooms have their own plunge pool, too.

The Views are what you come for
Probably one of the best located properties we have been to. Once you arrive you know why you chose this property. While it is a bit of a pain to get to, the short boat trip is worth it. Good points: o views from the beach, o views from our room o views from just about any point on the property o The toiletries are of higher quality o The club lounge is the best kept secret!!! (maybe not after this review) Good wifi o The Monkeys. love this little oddity of the property. They are every where and into everything from about 13:00-16:00 and then they are not to be seen o Lots of little niches where that are great photo opportunities Points to consider: o It is a big property and maintenance in some areas is lacking, common problem with all big properties o the pier is neat to look at and no so neat to walk on, be warned even for the fit. o rooms felt were small (even for one of their larger rooms o big pool is overwhelmed by kids, not a problem unless you don't like kids and then you will have a huge problem with the big pool o lot of guests are either European or Russian, so unless you love getting up at 6:00 in the morning to stake your claim for a beach chair and umbrella you will be resigned to the chairs on the grass--which actually is okay just limited views. Not a huge problem just find it extremely rude to put towels in chairs and then never use the chairs except for 20 mins the entire day. Saw this happen on multiple occasions so not an exaggeration. If you are one of these people, try thinking about your fellow human for a minute. Club Lounge. SOOOOO worth it. I wound not stay at this property without doing the club lounge. Great service (bend over backwards for you), good breakfast, good snacks and great drinks for a couple hours a day in the evening, All in all, not a huge fan of big properties like this, but they did a good job and the club lounge and service in the club lounge makes it a place I would have no problem recommending and coming back to. Water taxis run every half hour back and forth to Ao Nang / Nappothama Pier (check the spelling of this) it is the same pier called two different names ?!? Taxi from the pier to the airport cost us 600 THB but you can probably get one for 500 THB. Centura has a table at the pier so you can not miss it. boat shuttle to the hotel is free. If you book a club room you will also get a few pieces of laundry cleaned daily as well. Monkey trail from the hotel to the other side of the beach is just a lot of steps and unless you want to go to another side of the beach for cheaper massages and pedicures there is no real reason to do so. BTW, did not see any monkeys on the trail.More
My wife and I went to Thailand for two weeks and we spent our second week here. Reception knew it was our honeymoon,so we had rose petals on our bed and in the bath, which was a nice touch. After being in our room for about twenty minutes our doorbell rang, room service brought us some oranges,a "happy honeymoon cake and a bottle of champagne". Which was lovely. The room was ok(1184) we had a garden view and could see the beach in the distance. The bed was comfy, the bath was nice, but the wifi was very slow. Just ensure that you always keep your door shut to your room as the wild monkeys will raid your mini bar. The pools were nice and the sun lounges were pretty comfy. There are two monitor lizards at this resort, but they are harmless and just ignore you. After a while the monkeys are a pain in the butt, they will take any food you have if your a relaxing by the pool and they aren't very friendly so be careful. To get to the resort you either have to get a speed boat or walk the monkey trail. We walked the monkey trail three times, only once we saw monkeys (it was ten to six in the evening). We saw about thirty of them!!! This monkeys ignore you and won't try and pinch your food or anything.! If you get the speed boat from the pier into town, you then have to get a taxi into town. Tuc tuc bike 100 baht, car 200-250 baht. The monkey trail, will lead you into town after about fifteen minutes. The resort was ok,the staff didn't always do hello and we were ignored a few times. The que for breakfast was a joke and needs to be a lot more organised. The breakfast wasn't that great. I'm sure there's better hotels/resorts in the area.More

Beautiful location and resort
Stayed for 5 nights with my wife son and daughter (17 & 20). Great location in a beautiful national park. Staff very friendly and helpful in the usual Thai style. Food in the restaurants was good, also catered for a gluten free diet. Good selection for the breakfast buffet. One criticism I did have in the Lotus Court Restaurant was that there were a few flies inside that were landing on the food, which an electric fly killer would sort out. Resort is secluded with access by boat which has to be booked in advance. Not much entertainment in the evenings which for us wasn't a problem. Resort is well looked after and clean, rooms spacious clean and generally well serviced. The few minor problems we had were sorted out promptly after reporting to reception. The rooms are starting to look a bit tired with a few stains etc on some of the upholstery and not up to the same standard as the Centara Grand at Central World Bangkok. Two swimming pools, one with lots of kids and crowded sun beds, the other quieter with pleanty of sun beds available under the palm trees, so something for everyone! We each had an hours session in the Spa for a massage, this was first class and highly recommended. Overall a great place to stay in a lovely part of Thailand.More

Eimear Anne G,
OUTSTANDING RESORT, CLOSE TO "PARADISE"
The resort is located on a beautifull corner of ao nang beach. You can enjoy tranquillity while staying in the resort itself, walk 10 minutes over the impressive monkey trail to pulsating ao nang beach with a lot of excellent restaurants, bars, massage parlors and typical thai shoppping aereas.(all at low prices). From time to time eating back in the hotel with higher price level, but reasonable with very good service and good quality of food. Everything good in price/quality relation. All lot of wild animals in the resorts (monkeys, reptiles, birds, snakes). Good for us , we liked to be that close to nature. Just two minus points: 1: noise of the longboats crossing allday from ao nang to railey beach close to the hotel beach , full power with a lot of noise ( sounds sometimes like airattac to pearl harbor, specially arround 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.) 2: all the really dirty water of parts of ao nang flows in to the sea just on the other side of the monkey trail and could flow over to the hotel beach depending the water flow in the sea.More
