With a handy location just 15 minutes’ walk from Ao Nang’s beach and main street, the Apasari Hotel is an ideal base for a Thai getaway. If you’re staying in, there’s a pool and restaurant on hand, too.
The Apasari Hotel sits down a quiet side street, so you can expect plenty of peace and quiet. You’re not far from the action, though. A 15-minute walk will bring you to Ao Nang’s main street. It’s lined with cafés, restaurants and shops, and leads down to the golden sandy beach.
Rooms are light and airy, with dark-wood furniture, floaty white drapes and embroidered cushions. They each come with a balcony, too.
Downstairs, there’s a big, open-sided restaurant – expect pancakes, cooked-to-order eggs and cereals at breakfast, and a mix of international favourites and Thai dishes for lunch and dinner.
The pool is a long, rectangular number, with in-water seats and a trio of fountains at one end. Running along one edge is a sun terrace, laid out with smart loungers and purple parasols, and behind that you’ll find a small pool for children.

Good value for the money
Our room was in A building, facing the pool and other side of the room towards next property and not the street, so it was quiet. Balcony bathed in morning sun. All that really counts were ok: aircon, safe, fridge, bathroom, cleaning, service attitude, bed (a bit too firm but still ok). Having a gluten-free diet I was a bit nervous about breakfast but found there enough options, omelet station and Asian hot dishes were lifesavers for me. The reception Wi-Fi was not reaching the room properly and we got access a slightly better free Wi-Fi when asked. Smallish pool was ok. Only thing that was a little minus was that the sunbeds got reserved by guests with towels early in the morning. However during our stay, there appeared a sign not to do that and it seemed to work. Many little and cheap thai places to eat just across the street. All in all, very good value for the cost, we would stay here again.More
Base for 14 nights
Used this hotel as a base for travelling around the islands and Chiang Mai. Lovely hotel, great location, 7 minuet stroll to Nopparat Thara Beach & the main shopping/dining/bar street and a little further 10-15 minuet stroll to Ao Nang Beach. Staff we were helpful, always smiling and always there to help. Rooms are cleaned everyday and fresh towels every day. Yes the pool area is small and there are not many beds, but I wouldn't really say it was a pool type holiday or a lounging round the pool type of hotel, its not worth moaning about when you have the choice of 2 beautiful beaches on your door step. Overall better than an average hotel and would stay again if I was ever in this area!More
Not very friendly staff
Rooms were large and ac worked nicely. Staff in the recepton was not very good. Didnt say hello or ask how we are doing. Cleaners were once laying on our bed. That was weird. Pool was ok but not very sunny. I enjoyed my last hotel in ao nang much more even though it had as good rating than apasari.More
Good stay all tho last minute booking
Small & quaint resort with a good location in Ao Nang - great access to the action packed beach street with bars, restaurants & cafes..... but tucked away in a lane so still peaceful & quite. Room was comfortable & the staff is very polite, helpful & speak good English. Good breakfast spread & value!!More
Would go back again!!
Staff are very kind and very helpful. Hotel is kept clean all the time. Room is cleaned on a daily basis. Bathroom - spotless! Breakfast comes with big variety, and food is always checked and refilled on a regular basis. (Something for Muslims - despite some items containing pork, they had separate spoons for each breakfast item, and had labelled 'pork' with a sign outside the allocated buffet tray). No complaint about the food...ate there a couple of times for lunch there too! Area itself is busy; with loads of eating places right in front of you. Massage parlour right next door is a delight (Ask for Dada....she's lush!!!). When you reach the edge of the street, you have two options. There's not much when you turn right (Ao Phra Nang), but there's a lot to offer when you turn left (Ao Nang). You'll come across a lot of bars, shisha lounges etc... The street where the hotel is at goes quiet at about 10-11pm so you'll enjoy a good sleep. All of the action takes place at that turning on the left. Don't get me wrong, there's a lovely stretch of beach to walk on Ao Phra Nang, but if you want the night life, go Ao Nang. TIps: - When booking excursions, book through hotel. And be polite and sweet talk them as well. Compliment the staff on their hard work on a day to day basis. You'll reap the rewards! We got a ton of discounts on every excursion we went to. - Haggle: especially with Tuktuk (the taxi service), some will charge you the standard rate from Ao Nang/Ao Phra Nang, back to your hotel....but others will try to take the mick with you. - Don't be rude/talk down on them: some tourists moaned at the staff....others raised their voice...no need really! They're calm people, and you won't get your discounts later on in your stay if you do ;-) There are 3-4 very well spoken staff there, so look for them. They understand sarcasm (great for us Brits!) and have a good sense of humour. Hope you enjoy your stay...we definitely did!! If they do read these, then I would like to thank every single individual staff there for a very pleasant stay. You helped us so much, and made things so easy for us!!! Everyone put a solid shift in fair plays!! Will see you again!More
