This hotel is right on the beach. It has a Thomson Kids’ Club, and 3 pools to pick from, too.
This huge hotel has nabbed a secluded spot, on the edge of a sandy beach. It’s geared around families – there’s a pool with colourful waterslides, and a pool just for kids. A Thomson Kids’ Club is the icing on the cake.
If you fancy exploring, it’s less than 10 minutes’ drive to Sousse’s medina and souk, and around the same distance to buzzing Monastir.
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. One visit per person per stay to either the Tunisian or Indian à la carte restaurant.
Selected local-brand alcohol, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Snacks at set times.
Designed for 3 to 11 year olds, Thomson Kids’ Club offers 2 hours of activities, 5 or 6 days a week. And that includes at least 3 evenings. It’s split into sections, with Tots for 3 to 5 year olds, Team for 6 to 8s, and Tribe for 9 to 11s. Best of all, most kids’ clubs activities are completely free. And outside of peak season, there are parent and toddler sessions 3 days a week, too. For your peace of mind, all Thomson Kids’ Club staff have advance DBS checks and hold NVQ Level 2 childcare qualifications. They’re First Aid trained, and there’ll be at least 2 of them on duty at all times.
2-bedroom superior swim-up room sleeps up to 6 with 1 double bed and a TV in the first bedroom, 2 child beds and a TV in the second bedroom and 1 or 2 child beds or sofa-beds in the lounge as required.
We have just returned from a week at Skanes, wonderful hotel, great food, great beer, wine and cocktails.
The rooms were good, nice size, and nice and clean.
The staff were great, both the hotel staff and the Thomson reps.
Beach lovely, though tended to get a bit dirty in the late afternoon.
The a la carte restaurants were as good as some five star hotels, and the Steakhouse restaurant(where you have to pay) was very good value, I had one of the best steaks ever there!
The weather was pretty good, though there were a couple of very spectacular thunderstorms, but we didn't let that spoil our fun.
We will certainly go back again.More
Family group of 15 visited skanes from 18th sept 2014 for 2 weeks had a great time hotel, rooms and food were very good. The pools were great and the beach was very nice and very clean the staff were very helpful "Ameur" in the main resturant is the man to see sorted us out and had a table every night same time waiting for us all. Their were a number of things that didnt impress us the night time entertainment for the kids was good but nothing much for adults no disco or club and if you wanted a drink after 12pm you had to pay in the lounge bar but the prices were good £1.50 for bottle of becks. The free drinks were good measures but all the soft drinks were laced with sugar so drinks never tasted right and after 1 or 2 i thought my teeth would fall out. Even the beer taste stale. So drank bottled water all hols. The beach is perfect until the locals start pestering you and your kids to buy stuff they actually give the kids stuff and say you have it but then pester parents for money and they arnt cheap best thing is to be firm straight away. They are only allowed along the narrow path of sand by the sea and not on the hotels beach area so just ignore them sercurity normally move them on when they become anoying. Finally the pool entertainment cheesy music is awaiting but only games for the kids a few adult games would make a diffrence liven the pool up. The slides are great but only so many times till they become boring. The hotel shop can be expensive so haggle and the hotel photographers want 3 dinar a pic but you can get them down to 1.80 dinar after a while. Great place would recommend but now ive been once i wouldnt go back.More
we stayed. a the skanes family resort sept 21st for a week and couldn't,t wished for a better holiday.hotel was spotless and clean, the hotel staff couldn't do enough for you along with the pool boys getting our sun beds every day.added bonus was a fantastic white sand beach which we as a family really enjoyed, specially the old man with his two camels which wasn't, extensive.only thing I can honesty say annoyed me was the Zulu night as I didn't,t think much of the dinner but the zoo was really enjoyable only problem was not enough time there to see it all,but the Zulu dancers and other dancer were really good.
I personally wouldn't,t recommend going with the boat trip with Ali-baba as it was a really smelly boat of diesel, food not the best and had tummy problem after, and later found out from other guest staying at the hotel week before the boat Brook down and water was coming in,so no Ali-baba your not the best as you keep on telling everyone.so suggest booking with Thomson rep.More
Cant fault it!!
Me and my wife took our kids away for the 1st time (4 and 1) the kids had an amazing time courtesy of the exceptional service of the thomson reps nothing was too much trouble and always greeted with a big smile and a big hello. The staff througout the hotel were brilliant everyone stopped to ask how our holiday was and stopped to chat with kids. The spa guest relations personell (saad) was a prime example of this my 1 year old would get so excited approaching his working area as he knew that a friendly welcome was coming!! The cleaners were always working the rooms were spotless and were greeted to pretty decorations with towels and rose petals on the bed and the room was always lovely and welcoming. The 1 downside was service in the resturaunt was slow to non existent at busy periods but that can not be helped due to volume of people in 1 area .... It would help if people remembered they are their for everyone and they are human beings not their personal slaves. Would definitely recommend. Take mosquito spray/cream though!!More
Stayed at the Skanes Family Resort from 1st October for one week. Wish I had booked 2 weeks. The whole holiday was fantastic. I stayed with my 12 year old nephew in Room 3013 which was a swim up room. Absolutely lovely. The complex is fantastic, food fantastic, didn't even try any of the speciality restaurants as the food was great in the main restaurant, staff fantastic, couldn't do enough for you, especially Dorothy and the the Day Manager (forgot his name - sorry). Everything was spotless, cleaning staff work really hard. Bar staff and restaurant staff always cheerful and helpful. Beach lovely. Pools fantastic. The only thing is the evening entertainment, could do with a little more. Cant wait to go back next year with the whole family.More
