This huge hotel has nabbed a secluded spot, on the edge of a sandy beach. It’s geared around families – there’s a pool with colourful waterslides, and a pool just for kids. A kids’ club is the icing on the cake.
If you fancy exploring, it’s less than 30 minutes’ drive to Sousse’s medina and souk, and around the same distance to buzzing Monastir. From May 2016 this hotel will become part of the Family Life collection.

We stayed at the skanes family resort just one week before that shocking attack. This hotel is fabulous, the food is excellent with many choices for all, the cleaners do such a fantastic job, rooms are spotless. The whole hotel is kept to high standards, and nothing is too much trouble, the gardens are always being attended to and are beautiful. The guys at the pool bar are always happy and smiling, and they are quite happy to bring drinks to your sunbeds. " samsungi" as we nicked named him is such a great guy, and we wish him all the very best for his wedding in september. Towels for by the pool are provided . Unfortunately the entertainment needs improving, it was really catered for children only, plus the amphitheatre was not in use. There isn't anything to do outside the hotel, but the train into monastir was less than 1 dinar, plus taxis are really cheap, just agree a price first. It is so very very sad that the tunis people are now going to suffer the most for the babaric actions of these sick individuals! !! The tunis people are one of the nicest friendliest people you could ever wish to meet. We love you tunis, and we will be back to see you again in the very near future. God bless you all. X More
We stayed at this hotel from the 24th June until the 2nd July as a party of 4, my wife and I and our two children aged 7 & 10. We returned home early due to the tragic event in sousse.! This hotel is fabulous. Check in was smooth, nice touch with the non alcoholic cocktails. We had a hiccup with our room, but we resolved this with the hotel by paying for an upgrade. The new room was great, dual air conditioning in both bedrooms. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. There was plenty of room/ storage to hang your clothes up etc. Now the food was 5 star in choice and quality. There is something for everyone at this place. We especially liked the cooked to order omelettes for breakfast . But all the food was great. We stayed around the smaller quieter pool, which our kids loved. The poolside is kept immaculate by the waiters and cleaning staff. There was always plenty of sun beds available. The hotel staff are top people who work tirelessly to make everybody's holiday special. We tried to give tips out every other day. They deserved them. Just to mention the cleaning team, this place is immaculate throughout the whole complex due to their attention to detail. The only negative point I need to mention is the lack of evening entertainment. It was poor at best. They would have got 5 stars easily if this was right. More
Having decided to give the all inclusive holiday a go a friend recommended Skanes, I travelled with my 4 year old in June and stayed for 1 week. I'm not sure what I expected but it was not as good as this, everything from food (especially the food), cleanliness, quality of the rooms and staff were excellent, they even have lifeguards at pools and the beach. The entitle complex is being constantly cleaned by smiling staff and its immaculate, our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels as we needed them. The food here is incredible, so much choice, our favourites being the fish (at least one different type every day) and the Tunisian food which is just delicious, breakfast omelettes, cooked to order, I could go on. Even the most fussy of eaters would be happy here. The local staff were lovely, they never stop smiling, make the right amount of effort to be friendly, a real credit to the hotel. If I had to have a niggle it would be the juice which kids love but from a parents perspective is nasty and sugary, but you're on holiday and these things are ok for a week or so..... This is a great, great hotel, if you have kids you will not be disappointed, I would go back. More

A must for families.
Perfect hotel for holiday with young children. We arrived just before that awful time of 26th June, but decided to continue with the holiday. So glad we did as the staff here certainly deserve our support, nothing was too much trouble for them even though most must have been worried about their jobs when flights in were cancelled. Food was first class, wine and cocktails lovely and the whole complex was spotless. The Thompson team were always on hand to entertain, guide and support. Our grandchildren (4yrs and 21months) thoroughly enjoyed the slides in the pool and rushed through dinner to join Thompson for ' little pups' and 'kennel club'. Definitely a great family holiday destination and we intend to return.More

This is my first ever review and a long one, I urge you to read on. I have never left a review but given the circumstances I felt I had too. We had a 2 week break with my partner and 4 year old daughter. The hotel; the hotel was amazing, we had our reservations having been to Mexico, maldives, Dominican etc so started comparing to those. We was wrong, the food was beautiful, never ever got bored of it and never tried anything that wasnt nice, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beer was lovely, not watered down and quite strong. The pool was brilliant, always something going on, the water slides were great fun, kids enjoyed their little play pool, always staff going around cleaning and having fun, perfect. The beach was immaculate, sand was clean, soft and white. The sea was crystal clear and alot warmer than the pool which surprised us. The room was lovely, we had a swim up room as it was part of the deal. Not really needed if im honest but was still nice. Could do with a shallow part for young kids though (its all 1.10m deep) Entertainment was great for kids although I would suggest putting shows on earlier and bingo at the end as kids do get tired. So all in all the hotel was perfect and would deffinately go again. We arrived on Thursday and on Friday the most unthinkable tragic incident occured as we all know, now this happened 20 miles away, admittadly we felt nervous during the brief period it happened but never felt unsafe. This is where it went downhill, people started leaving as their holiday came to an end and no flights were coming in to replace them so consiquently the hotel became quieter and quieter which sort of ruined the atmosphere. However, the staff stayed happy, the food stayed brilliant, the Entertainment stayed the same. We decided to see our 2 weeks through and not leave early and we are glad we did. I urge people not to let that tragic horrific incident deter them from coming to this beautiful, friendly country. It is safe, its as safe as anywhere else this day and age. I have absolute respect and admiration for the people of Tunisia. Tunisia is exactly what the Muslim communtiy stands for, peace. Don't let these terrorists, this exteremist disease take away our freedom to enjoy a well earnt holiday with our families, dont let them take a beautiful, peaceful happy country that we have been enjoying for decades from our brochures, this is what the extremists want. Our holiday was amazing, the hotel and staff were fantastic and I think the people there have proved just how far they will go to help us. We will be going back.More
