The Sensimar Medina Gardens is in an unbeatable location in the heart of Marrakech, plus it's all wrapped up in traditional Moroccan good looks.
This place has one of the best addresses in Marrakech, It’s on the doorstep of Jemaa el-Fna square, which means you’re only 5 minutes’ walk from the souks, restaurants and food stalls.
A lot of the original Arabic features have stayed put, including a 200-year-old tower, but the whole place has been given an injection of contemporary style.

Visited during Ramadam in June 2017
My girlfriend and I booked to stay here for our main summer holiday and we had a wonderful time! The hotel was clean, spacious and air conditioned (whilst the temperature outside was about 48 degrees!). The grounds were immaculately kept and the restaurant held such a vast selection that we could not have eaten everything that was cooked during our ten day stay! Also, a special mention should be made for Stacey, the hotel manager. She and her team could not have worked harder to make sure that everybody enjoyed their stay!More
Fantastic food, beautiful gardens but hotel rooms were more 3/3.5 star than 4 star
We spent a week here in July 2017. Great location in the old city in marrakech- 10-15 min walk to souks but also 15 min walk to new city. Hotel could do with an upgrade as rooms not the most flashy and a little dated, bit dusty in the corridors although main reception was spotless. Walls of hotel are quite thin, we could hear showed running next door and people opening and closing wardrobe/drawers. Most flavoursome food I've ever had at a hotel, lots of variety. Staff generally polite, one or two not so enthusiastic but can see past that. African dancers at the weekend were the best entertainment of the week and got people dancing. Other nights were not as great although the quality of singing was brilliant, it wasn't enough to get people dancing. I would recommend this hotel for those want to experience the culture of morocco or even for those who want to chill out at the hotel all day as gardens are beautiful and pool is nice. Also book your excursions online with trip advisor/find local people who you can trust rather than with hotel reps as much cheaper and exactly the same trips. Would recommend sunset horse and carriage ride aprox £20/hour with local guide and trip to ouzoud waterfalls, they take you right up to the waterfall. We have some amazing pics from this holiday. Overall one of our favourite holidays and hotel location enabled us to make the most of the city :)More
Lovely hotel in the centre of town
Just returned from a 4 night break with Thomson at this hotel. Although we didn't arrive until 1am we were greeted by the manager who checked us all in and then offered us food from the restaurant which was a nice touch. We had booked a jacuzzi room with a garden view - wasn't a garden view more of a restaurant terrace view (room 708) but were told they had no others to move us to. Was quite open to people walking by but we hung towels over the railing and it then didn't spoil our time there. A 2nd floor room would have been much better though. The room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Decor was ok but to be honest we don't spend too much time in the room so didn't have a problem with anything and thought it was fine. The grounds off the hotel are lovely and well kept with plenty of sunbeds around the pools and in the garden areas. Plenty of low key activities on offer of you wanted them and we were never hassled to join in anything. All the staff were polite and worked hard to make sure your holiday was as it should be. There was an Afrucan Night which was good but not sure about the pool party night - that was a bit odd but they are catering for all tastes. We went all inclusive and found the food to be good each meal with a good variety to choose from with plenty of local foods to try. The drinks were also included and the restaurant staff were always topping up your drinks. We were able to pay to stay in our room as we had a late flight. On leaving everything was very organised with departure firms being handed out ready for the airport and hotel staff saying goodbye as we left. The hotel is 5-10 mins walk to the souks and there is an artisan market just outside. Some gardens to walk around across the road. Couldn't complain about where the hotel was at all - very central. All in all we would return again.More
Cheap, cheerful and culture
So me and my boyfriend decided to go on a cheap little getaway whilst being able to get some heat, this meant Marrakech sensimar medina gardens was the perfect destination for us. We will now breakdown the various bits of our hotel. Food: This is probably one of the most important aspects of a hotel especially as we went all inclusive. The food had great variety mixing traditional morrocan dishes with more classic ones which meant there was something for everyone to fill their tummies with. Overall the quality of the food was of a high standard. A couple of negatives were that breakfast was tidied away fairly quickly even though it was on the hotel information that breakfast was served till 11. In fact no further dishes were made after ~930. So top tip, go to breakfast early! In addition there is no Sunday brunch which was mentioned also in the hotel info so we decided lie in and head for brunch at 11 however to our major disappointment there was no Nutella and pancakes ! Or any hot dishes as a matter of fact. Entertainment: Variety of activities to participate in including tennis, table tennis, darts and shuffle board run by nick who was a great host. Rooms: Nice rooms and could do with a minor renovation. Bed were comfy. Showers weren't powerful at all which didn't make washing the best either Learn from our mistakes, pay attention to what room you book. We ended up staying in a room where the view wasn't particularly pleasant and had no balcony. Book the rooms with pool/garden view and balcony which are stunning (only about £10 more). The staff tried to accommodate a change in room however due to the availability where unable to do so. Also jacuzzi rooms look amazing but unfortunately fully booked. Drinks: All inclusive meant that we were able to have most drinks that we wanted for free. Alcoholic drinks are all local. If you want your well known brands then drinks can be around 5 pound. They do make em strong which you can take as a positive or negative ! Surrounding areas: All beautiful with lovely trees, birds tweeting, turtles trotting and sun shining. The area is big and with it being a relatively small hotel, there was plenty of space to be secluded. There are 2 pools of which one is heated, much needed when the temperature was hovering between 21 degrees. The main pool was too cold to go into. TIPS: Excursions- Thomson do have a range of trips to go on but we found just outside the hotel on the main road a tour operator that was doing the same trips for less than half the price offered by Thomson! We did a full day trip to the Atlas Mountains which was incredible and less than £30 each (£88 each with Thomson) and quad biking in the agafay desert which was fantastic just the two of us and our guide (£50 each). It's worth an adventure outside and a little bargaining. In summary, a great holiday! For the price it is incredible value. We had fantastic weather for 5 out of the 7 days. Marrakech itself is beautiful, the people are friendly and don't be afraid to venture out of the hotel! And Stacey, Alex and Nick are a fantastic team - thank you for a lovely stay. More
This hotel does have a few negatives such as; the rooms and general decor require updating as does the pool tiling. whilst the management try the evening entertainment could be better. That said - the hotel is in a fantastic location. 15 mins from Menara airport, 5 mins from the 60,000+souks and Jeema-el-fna medina. set in beautiful gardens with an abundance of fruit trees, herb gardens and home to turtles! 2 lovely pools an abundance of sunbeds and 4 poster lounge beds which you'll never have to fight for. The all inclusive selection of food and drinks is excellent with something (or everything for some folks) to suit all tastes. However, the main selling point is the professionalism and attention of the staff, working 6 days a week nothing is too much trouble and everything is carried out with a genuine smile and homily from the bedroom cleaning staff to the senior management, everyone is happy to discuss; your day/their day, their country, heritage, language, where to go, what to see etc. I'd like, at this point to thank a few relevant staff for making our 2 weeks better than they would have been without their friendship and help. Mossine our pool barman & Mounair in the Atlas bar who both made our excellent Mojito's and offered a great insight into their culture along with Aabid. Amine our food and drinks waiter who along with Abdelah made meal times fun. This is a adult hotel for singles, couples set in a peaceful tranquil location, but leave the hotel grounds and the city is manic like Piccadilly circus on steroids most of the day/night. Would we return? - to this hotel definitely and Marrakech as a city is a definite must see at least once on your travels.More
