If you love nature, you'll love holidays in Watamu. Not only is it home to some lovely tropical mangroves and an array of colourful birdlife. It's also got its own Marine National Park, complete with a whole mini-world of fascinating sea life living in and around an extensive coral reef. And the reef is easily accessible on foot when the tide's out. Add to this a great beach along with some fine watersports and you've got the essence of holidays in Watamu: relaxation, fun and fantastic scenery.
What's more, if you're into all inclusive holidays, Watamu is a good choice. And for all inclusive holidays read bargain holidays, with full board, drinks and a whole host of activities and entertainment included in the price. It's all courtesy of the superb Turtle Bay Beach Club, which also has the kind of location many property owners can only dream of. It's right on the beach and slap bang in the middle of the marine park, not to mention ten acres of gorgeous gardens. The words 'dream' and 'holiday' immediately come to mind.
Travel to Watamu and you'll be perfectly placed to explore the local area. You can visit Arabuko Sokoke Forest, the last of Kenya's coastal woodlands, or wander around the ruins of a 13th century Swahili city. Nearby Malindi is the place for souvenir shopping. Or simply find yourself a convenient hammock slung between a couple of palm trees, lie back and think of England – where it's probably raining!
