It’s all about the water at this mega hotel, and no wonder – you’ve got 4 pools, a private beach and a waterpark.
With its traditional Arabic-style architecture, this terracotta hotel really stands out. Outside there are lawns and fountains, and terraces overlooking huge pools.
Location-wise, it’s on its own private stretch of beach in peaceful Nabq Bay. And when you want bright lights, you’re 25-minutes’ drive from busy Na’ama Bay.

Having read mixed reviews of this hotel, I went with an open mind, as I have been to many places and lots of different hotels/apartments but perhaps I should have taken more notice of the not so very good reviews this hotel has had considering the money we paid to stay there. We, as a family of 4 stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in July. Having stayed at many 4 or 5 star hotels, I expected this to be quite like the other ones my husband and I have encountered. I was mistaken.... Don't get me wrong, there are aspects of this hotel which are lovely but it still should not be a 4 star plus. The hotel was very shabby and run down. As we were a family of 7 our 4 boys were put in the royal suite, on the ground floor near the beach end, this was a wonderful room, it had a very large living area and 2 large bedrooms connected to it. My husband, daughter and I were given another room which had no business being described as a superior room. It was a small bedroom for 2 people, 2 single beds in(for a married couple) which they put a little old camp bed in for our daughter and the air conditioning didn't work, not a good start, we were all tired and very hot. So off to reception we went to complain. After much complaining and the threat of my husband sleeping in reception, we were told we could get another room, the next day. We were given the room which was a lot bigger than our original room, have no idea what they class that room as. What I find strange is that you have a fridge in your room which does not get stocked with water, its up to you to get your bottles at the bars or when eating considering its so hot you would have thought they would stock your fridge. The rooms were cleaned every day and that was fantastic, very clean. The swimming pool nearest us was lovely, apart from a few things that were not working (one of the plunge pools, water fountains). This pool was nearest the main dinning room. You had to get up early to bag a sunbed too. The first week wasn't too bad but the second week, the hotel was filling up rather well. So to ensure a sunbed my husband was getting up at 7:30 am. Don't lose your towel card either, its a $25 charge. Don't know about kids clubs as our children are all teenagers but they didn't rate the water slides at all. Very poor. Myself and a few of our children did get sick, with sickness and diarrhoea. The pharmacist across the road was a great help. I never normally get sick on holiday, this was not a good time. The food in the main restaurant was very average and in the end sickening and bland. Also during the day there is no air conditioning in the main restaurant and its an awful experience. Our daughter is a vegetarian and there was not a lot on offer other than vegetables and rice. So we ate in the al a carte restaurants as much as we could get booked up, the best by far is the Chinese but book early as it gets booked up really quickly, you can book these up from 10am by reception, make sure you book a day in advance. The other eating place that deserves a special mention is the pizza place by the beach, where we ate a lot after I got sick. This shuts about 16:30 though... The staff there are wonderful, sometimes the kids would just go on their own and they were looked after really well, the waiters are great and the main pizza man, he cooks for the Chinese too is wonderful. The pizzas are fantastic. A couple of times we ate outside the hotel, even though we were all inclusive, we needed a change, as you come out of the hotel and turn right theres a little bar called St Georges bar, the food and hospitality there are great. Another night we went into Narma Bay and ate at TGI Fridays. Narma bay is a great night out.More

Unfortunately the hotel is due to close its doors this October as it has been sold. The staff were great but the Hotel needs to be given a face lift as it was starting to look a bit jaded, this was our second visit to the hotel as we went there 3 years ago. We had a great time and the staff worked very hard to make the holiday go well, would return but it will be a new hotel when it opens its doors in a years time.More
Hi it was ok our hotel food was quite good and we had our own English restaurant but we was told before hand that it would require men wearing long trousers in the evening! So we had to buy some which was a expensive we didn't need! And one big problem was my daughters hair went green from the pools! And it happened to a lot of others too and also our swimwear where it was White went green also! The hotel didn't want to know and the Thomson rep also didn't do anything to help! Which was very bad management! So won't be going to this hotel again and maybe use a different travel company! I have traveled with thomsons for a few years now but have had a bit of expense! Since coming home . Sarah smith.More
In its day perhaps great.
Hotel tired. Refurb due this oct so may change. Staff were saving grace as excellent and some went beyond what was expected to make our holiday good. Restaurants, Marrakech was a nightmare. Aquarium good. Food well cooked and presented. Bars, not many for the evenings. Service in plastic cups in lobby bar was bad. Entertainment was hit and miss. Animation ok at times. Pools good, lads tried hard to keep clean. Fountain was cloudy. Flakes of paint in water. Slimy bottom in places. Shame. Sea was always out and shallow. Had to walk down pier to swim, making beach a no go. Shame as nice spot. But for a quick dip, hard work walking. As said, the hotel is due a full refurb, this WILL make Tirana Grand Azure a hotel to visit. It was I understand top notch until this year. Shame...... But you could tell the lack of attention now. Give it a few years and may return to see.More
