Right by the beach, the Mirabel Park is spot on if you're after a fly-and-flop break. What's more it's tucked in a fairly quiet corner of Sharm El Sheikh called Nabq Bay - so if 'busy doing nothing' is your holiday mantra you'll be in for a treat. The hotel itself is gorgeous. Take the lobby. All marble floors and graceful Arabian arches, it's a real showstopper and sets the tone for things to come. The bedrooms are very contemporary, decked out in striking dark wood and soothing cream-coloured fabrics, and the stylish Mazag Bar is the place to chill out in the evenings with a cocktail. And like the decor, the food's a real talking point, too. Whether you pile your plate at the buffet or splash out in one of the a la carte restaurants, dining here really is something special. Outside, it's a similar story. The hotel fans out from a huge figure of eight swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and little pockets of lawn. Sun-loungers and parasols aside, the star turn of the pool scene has to be the mini-waterpark. All corkscrews, chutes and slides, it's loads of fun and a sure-fire hit if you've got the kids in tow. On the activities front, there's plenty to choose from. Practise your drop shot out on the tennis court. Keep honed and toned in the fitness room. And pull on a snorkel and mask and watch technicolour shoals flit around the Red Sea's coral reefs. And one last thing. As a guest here you can use the Beach Bar, Reef snack bar and kids' club at the sister hotel, the Jaz Mirabel Beach. Enjoy.

Everything about this hotel and staff was great, from the cleaners to the manager all seem to be there just for you, they can't do enough for you, the best ever and thomsons rep Clair was just brilliant. more on this review
