The award-winning Sensatori Resort Sharm El Sheikh goes all out to impress. It’s in a fantastic location, just metres from a long ribbon of sand and the legendary coral-filled waters of the Red Sea.
The hotel has been designed to make the most of the outstanding views. The main swimming pool is footsteps from the beach. And there are two rooftop terraces – one has a great teppanyaki restaurant, the other has a gym and a spa.
Away from the beach, the hotel has the top-class facilities Sensatori is famous for. Six restaurants range from an American-style diner to a Middle Eastern à la carte. The sports line-up encompasses everything from scuba diving to yoga. And stylish rooms come with every prefix imaginable, including beachfront, swim-up and whirlpool.

Good hotel but let down by some staff
I think the hotel is very well managed and when problems are brought to the senior management's attention they do there utmost to put things right. However with a resort of that size there will inevitably be problems occurring. I was amazed that there was a total lack of diversity within the workforce. I appreciate it is a Muslim country but I do feel that the in the 21st century diversity within the hotel would be of benefit. I know that other hotels in Sharm employ women from overseas. A lot has been written about the resort itself and I will not repeat it again here, save to say, I do not think you will be disappointed in the standard of the facilities or services offered by most of the staff there. I note that some of the customers commented on Waleed, who works in the lobby bar being helpful. Of note all his supporters are couples whom he goes out of his way to befriend. As a family we found it near impossible to get a drink in that bar. At times waiting over half an hour whilst he ignored us and served customers without children. In the end we had to go to the bar and get our own drinks. We tipped well during our stay but did so for good service and not in order to receive service in the first place. Waleed mistakenly felt that as parents we were not drinkers and therefore not tippers so were best encouraged to go elsewhere. His overfamiliarity and repertoire of Cockney slang was not the kind of conduct I expect to receive in a five star resort. Maybe some customers like that sort of thing but in that case you need to choose your audience. On one evening I saw a British couple in the lobby bar at around 11pm taking five paper cups of alcohol on each hand ie one on each finger to their rooms. They were being egged on by the staff and other customers. It was absolutely shocking and I doubt they could drink all that alcohol. Much of it would have been wasted. I have never witnessed such greed and inappropriate behaviour. I would not expect this in a five star resort. This is something the management should stamp out in order to make it a more pleasant experience for all. On the subject of tipping I felt the pressure to do so in order to get service overwhelming and totally at odds with the all inclusive concept. For example, Sandals resorts in the Carribean do not allow tipping in order to avoid this kind of two tier service. I believe that Sensatori should consider adopting the same policy. Or at least offering an optional charge to be levied at the end of the stay to be distributed between the staff. At lunch we were sometimes attended by about half a dozen people so who do you tip? On our departure we tipped the person who took our luggage to the car but then a different person loaded it into the boot and was loudly complaining because he was not also tipped. Another person who seemed to be ordering the luggage porters around was making a rude shooing gesture towards us. I think other people have commented on this man. All I can say is it was a bad end to our vacation and made us feel that our custom was not appreciated. On a positive note the staff at the family pool, namely Ahmad and his colleagues were excellent and went the extra mile for the families who used their services. Emad and the staff at the Piano Bar were also very welcoming and provided an excellent service. The staff in the restaurants were also very efficient. A special thank you to Taha and Hassan at the Fountain View for all their efforts in assisting us. The grounds are immaculately maintained by the many gardeners and other staff who are always polite and respectful. As far as the room cleaning staff are concerned. The one allocated to us was awful and used to reuse toiletries and tissues from other peoples rooms. For example, when I asked him for a box of tissues he gave me one with only two tissue left in it. When I told him he said,''OK I will give you a new one!' He also gave me toiletires which were covered in shower gel on the outside and clearly he had been pouring bits from others to make a full one. I complained about this to his supervisor who did not seem at all surprised by this. The day before we were left there was a new cleaner and the difference was remarkable. If only the second cleaner had been in place for the duration of our holiday it would have made things more comfortable. The pillows and duvet we had were the most uncomfortable I have ever come across. I told the supervisor but despite giving us two replacement pillows they were just as bad. We asked for our sheets to be changed after a week and was told by the cleaner that he changed them every day. This was not true but he had no qualms about looking you in the eye whilst telling lies. The duvet was very heavy and not suitable for the climate. The second cleaner recognised there was a problem and changed the duvet to a light one without being told about it. The evening entertainers are excellent and I believe have mostly come worked previously in West End shows. The facilities for children are excellent and the staff all professional and well trained. I have concentrated on the staff as I feel they can make or break a holiday. As previously mentioned the key areas for improvement are diversity and removing tipping of individuals. A better and fairer system should be put in place to ensure that everyone benefits and service is provided equally and fairly to all. This will lead to a greatly improved Sensatori experience.More

Exactly what I expected
We have just returned from a two week stay at the Sensatori 18 November- 2 December. The reason for only giving four stars is mainly down to just a few areas which could be improved ie pools too cool, free wifi should be included in all areas and international drinks should be included. Having read lots of previous reviews the hotel was just as I expected and there is nothing more that I can add apart from suite information. We stayed in sensatori suite 2514 which is on the top floor and overlooks the main pool and sea. It is a large suite with lounge, small kitchen with espresso machine, microwave, kettle and drinks makings. There is a toilet off the lounge a large bedroom with bathroom with large jacuzzi bath with shower over but no freestanding shower. There is also a walk in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space. Outside is a large balcony with corner sofa day bed and table and chairs. Our thanks go to Mohammed who looked after our room, he is a kind diligent worker who ensured that we had everything that we needed.More

4 not 5 star but loved it
We stayed for a week from 14th November and really enjoyed our stay but it was 4 not 5 star. So the plus points The staff were fantastic The setting was lovely with a beautiful sandy beach which lead out to the pontoon with such easy access to the most amazing coral reef. The food was delicious and so varied. The reasons it was 4 star The all inclusive drinks were so disappointing. I enjoy a pina colada on holiday but I tried several and there was no flavour of pineapple coconut or rum! We asked for amerettos but had to pay the equivalent of £6 per drink it was not included The bathrooms had everything necessary but the design and finish was terrible On the whole we had a great holiday but there is room for improvementMore

Excellent hotel with great staff
Stayed at this hotel on 21 November for one week. First impressions were really good and these stayed with us for our entire stay. Rooms very comfortable and nicely furnished with ample storage. Great choice of food in the restaurants, always freshly cooked and hot. Even though the hotel was 80% full there was never wait for tables or food. Great choice of pools with a family pool and quiet adult one. The beach was fantastic with huge shades. The sun beds were plentiful with thick padded mattresses; quite heavy to shift around but the staff were always on hand and ready to help whenever you needed them. Waiter bar service on the beach as well as round the pools. Even brought round crisps and little bowls of fresh fruit.Shuttle bus available to take you into Soho Square etc. although we did a couple of trips with Thomsons who have their own Sensatori Customer Service lounge available 8am to 8pm every day and provided excellent help (special thanks to Anja and Hany). Entertainment was good (air con in the theatre was fierce so wrap up) Our weather was fantastic - high 20s/low 30s for the entire week. I was travelling with a friend and did not wish to share a king size bed which Thomson UK staff advised were the only beds available, so we paid for a family room with second bedrom which had two small sofa beds. However when we arrived we found that there are some rooms with twin beds which would have saved us some money. I cananot close without mentioning the hotel staff. They were EXCELLENT; very friendly, courteous and helpful, A real credit to the Hotel. .More

4th visit to Sensatori Sharm
Visit number 4 to this great place. From the moment we returned we were recognised as returning guests and were given many benefits which recognised our loyalty. The benefits included 25% off the pay restaurants , 25% off spa treatments, a complimentary mini bar which contained soft drinks, red and white wine , beer and chocolate which were replenished on the odd occasion we indulged. Another big benefit was a complimentary late room check out until 18.00 hours if required. There were another 10 or 12 benefits as well. Food in the Fountain View and all other areas was good and the 2 pay restaurants were good value although the wine is too expensive, we left this alone. All areas were extremely clean as on previous visits although we thought our room was not cleaned as well as in March when we were here last. Everyone mentions the friendliness of all of the staff and nothing else needs saying about this , they are fantastic. We tipped the staff who regularly served us around the pool on the beach and in the restaurant half way through our 14 day stay, because they deserved it. If the service was not up to the standard we would not have tipped. We enjoy snorkelling but both of our own snorkels packed up so we used the benefit of free hire from Aquarius who were helpful even if the equipment was not the best. The free hire was one of the benefits as a returning customer. What was disappointing once again was the inability of some male guests to purchase a decent shirt or two and a pair of trousers for evening dinner , it was a shame to see the ladies dressed up accompanied by a bloke who looked like he had just delivered a quantity of building materials to the site. The entertainment was of a good quality with the show cast and acts from the uk. However I am not sure if kids kicking a ball around the theatre just prior to the evening entertainment was really on , with the parents doing nothing about it. Perhaps some time at school may have helped.!!!!. sort em out Shelley. . The sports team were always visible and we attended several archery sessions which were fun and slightly competitive. we aim to return in March 2014 and introduce our son and his girlfriend to this excellent hotel. Thanks to everyone at the resort and good luck to Adam , Carly and Mikeala in their next ventures at Turkey , Jamaica and back in the UK. We visited from 17th November to 1st December 2013 .More
