We chose this hotel based upon reviews, it's size, to give 'couples' a try and were very pleased we did. The staff from arrival to departure were polite, friendly and appropriately attentive. There was always some member of management around even if it was just popping into the restaurant to ask how things were, plus the guest relations manager who approached guests at least once a day. The room we had (2223) was airy, bright, clean and well equipped with a massive bed. It was well serviced, kept spotless, with as is the norm daily towel art. We had no 'tummy troubles' or issues with the food, there was always a good variety relating to the themed night. There are far too many lovely deserts and pastries, so hide the scales in the room. We chose to eat our evening meals in the Blue Marine restaurant as it had a really nice atmosphere and the diners were more prepared to go with the flow rather than dive in. There were plenty of sun beds, yes if you want the prime positions it seemed that people got up from 0600hrs on, (banging doors), but we were always led to ones that gave what you wanted, sun and shade and as described, 'more peaceful ones. If you don't want to be bothered by the in-house facilities vendors put one of the Do not disturb signs by your beds, they do respect these. We basically chose to completely relax, but there is plenty to do if you wish. Whilst the world is a huge place, it is nice to find a location that you know, if you just want a week or two to relax in comfort, be well looked after and have guaranteed sunshine, is there waiting. We shall certainly use this hotel again, based on what you pay it would be difficult to fault.More

Great Hotel, service amazing
Stayed at this hotel for 1 week, the 1st week in Oct. Had a wonderful time. Nice hotel located right on the beach at Maya Bay. Probably not the greatest sea view I have ever seen, so was a little disappointed, also the constant thumping bass of the music from the local beach bar rather spoilt the time we spent at the beach. Stayed in room 3105 which was on the ground floor right at the side of the pool. Stayed with Thompson on an All Incl basis. Food was good, but I wouldn't say it was excellent, but there is plenty to choose from. We preferred the restaurant located close to the beach rather than the main restaurant, which felt a little like a school canteen. The service was excellent from the friendly team. Also the fact that the hotel was couples only made it relaxing and peaceful. Sami the Thompson rep was wonderful as were the entertainment team. The rooms are well equipped with air conditioning, fridge, kettle, bath robes. Plenty of bottled water left in the room on a daily basis. A good sized room with a huge comfortable bed. A great place for a October holiday, temperatures still in high 80's low 90's. I thought it was a nice touch that the lady from guest relations came around the pool daily to ask if you were happy with everything...The only thing lacking I would say, compared with other good all incl hotels I have stayed in, there was no sun bed drinks service you had to drag yourself to the bar to get your own drink! But hey ho....Thank you Waffy you talked me into having a massage in the spa and I'm so glad you did....it was soooo nice! xMore

This is a really nice hotel and the staff all work very hard to make sure everything is as it should be. Would especially mention the following staff - Mahmoud who cleaned our room for the fortnight and did an excellent job, Sabry & Mohammed the drinks waiters and Mohammed who drives the hotel boat and works around the pool - all lovely people who deserve the extra recognition. We travelled here with 2 friends and our view of the holiday is probably somewhat clouded by the fact that we were all ill on and off for the whole fortnight. My wife was ill the 3rd day into the holiday which resulted in her not leaving the room really for a couple of days and required visits to the Doctor to go on drips for 3 days running. Our friends also suffered. The wife also ended up on a drip and was back and forth the Doctors whilst her husband and myself had a good dose of the "Egyptian Two Steps". Luckily we didn't require drips but were given tablets which we had to take for several days. We had read reports where people had stomach upsets here and one dose of tablets from the pharmacy cured the problem Not so with us and we heard of numerous people being on drips and having repeated incidents of the upset stomach whilst we were staying there. The hotel claimed the problem was due to the weather being so hot but we feel this was not the case as some staff were also ill and surely they would be used to the heat. The food was OK but we found it very repetitive and not to the standard of other 5* all inclusive hotels we have been to. Lunch at the beach is again OK but the same menu every day. We were invited to the Gala dinner to meet the management on the last night of our stay This was somewhat disappointing as no managers showed up only the general staff that we ran into every day. As you look from the hotel towards the beach the hotel to the left is very noisy and there is a continual "boom boom" of music coming from there. We understand this hotel is mainly used by young Russians. We walked along the beach and although the beach for the hotel is fine the rest of it leaves a lot to be desired. There was rubbish on the beach and the waters edge, there was oil in the water from where the boats come in and out and the overall appearance was one of a shanty town. If you are a light sleeper then you may well be woken around 4 to 5am in the morning by the sound of locals being called to prayer. One thing which this hotel offers and we have never had in other hotels is a free laundry service. You are invited to fill a laundry bag with as many clothes as you can fit in and this is then collected from your room, washed/ironed and returned later the same day. We all felt that the pool didn't offer enough in the way of sunshades and to guarantee a bed with a shade you had to be up and about very early in the morning. Another point is to avoid sitting near where the water polo is played in the lower pool. The first couple of days this was fine but after that the object of the game seemed to be how much disruption could they cause to people laying around the pool. The 2 girls who run this in the afternoon did nothing to discourage the problem and I am aware that several complaints were made. The evening entertainment we thought was good and the in house duo His & Hers do a very good job. A visit to Soho Square near the airport is worth a visit. This is an ultra modern complex with shops, bars and restaurants etc. Thomson do a trip which works out at about £12 per person. The 4 of us got a taxi through the hotel there and back for £12 plus a tip so it may be worth considering this option. One of the staff offers a trip around 5pm on Friday and Sunday to visit the local market and shops which is well worth doing as she can point you in the right direction from where to and where not to buy plus gives tips on haggling. Nice hotel, lovely staff, good weather but will we return....noMore

We had a two week holiday split with a nile cruise.
On our arrival we were greeted by Samy (Thomson Rep) and escorted to a ballroom and giving a drink with a warm cloth to freshen ourselfs up with. Ater the meet and greet we were escorted to the restaurant (they kept open) so we could have something to eat after the journey,(nice touch).
Next morning we had our welcome meeting with Samy, who gave us a list of all the activities and excursions we could do, he was full of knowedge and gave time to speak to everyone of us if we were not sure.He kept us informed well in advance for our departure times to Luxor (Nile Cruise).
On our return from the cruise he greeted us like long lost friends. The hotel was very clean and confortable.the food in the restaurant was very good with a wide range and we never went hungry.
Every day the room staff left something on the bed (made from towels) Peacocks, elephants etc, after a few days we would guess what would greet us on our return to the room.
The bar staff were always there to put a drink in your hand, my wife took a liking to the coctail mai tai, very smooth.
In the hotel was a tailor (forgot his name) would make anything you wanted, suits, shirts, dresses and would be made within two to three days if you wanted, got two shirts at a resonable price.
All in all it was a great holidayMore
