Fabulous / shame about the neighbours!
My friend and I had a great holiday overall. Everything has been said before about the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the hotel. The only major problem we encountered was the noise from the neighbours along the beach who played the music so loudly I think they were trying to entertain (or drive mad) the tourists in Cairo! Even playing music through headphones did not compete with the incessant thud, thud, thud of the head banging "music". How the people who were actually sitting on the beach where the speakers were didn't go deaf I have no idea. Apparently there is a court case in progress regarding the problem and the police have been called on a number of occasions. It does not happen every day and is less of a problem away from the beach around the swimming pools but it is a HUGE PROBLEM! I did have an unfortunate experience with the free laundry service, in that a no-iron blouse was ironed and ruined. We were given a complimentary Italian meal as compensation which, I am sad to say was the worst Italian meal I have ever had in my life. I have to be gluten free so I normally avoid Italian restaurants (can't stand to smell all the lovely bread and see the pasta which I would love to have but can't) but i did have a risotto. This was just awful! It had clearly been microwaved and was sticky and still bubbling! The creme brulee to follow was equally dreadful! Having said all that, the food in the main restaurant was excellent. The chefs were absolutely fantastic to me making sure I could have a good choice of all courses (re the gluten free) including cooking for me specially to order. Each and every chef was fantastic and it would be very unfair to name one in particular! A few staff I will mention who made our stay memorable were Samantha (management who dealt with our laundry problems as best she could!), Hassanin (beach) who was charming and helpful, Ishmail, Amr (beach manager) Sabry, Hassan, Amr (excellent breakfast chef) and many others. All staff were excellent and very friendly and for the most part not over familiar. There is a fine line between friendliness and over familiarity and they do seem to have worked this out very well. Despite the above mentioned problems the good far outweighed the not so good and it is my intention to return next April with my husband for our anniversary. We may even book a suite even though the room we had was exellent.More

Little Wonder Couples Return
Having safely and quickly negotiated Sharm El Sheikh Airport, we are directed to our bus for transfer to the hotel. On arrival, we confirm our suitcases and are taken through the cavernous lobby to the Ball Room with the other arrivals. We are given cold refreshing towels and a drink and asked to fill in a form whilst they check or passports. We are then given a quick briefing about the hotel and given room keys, an ID card (no arm bands here) and towel cards. Our room was airy clean and spacious with one of the biggest beds I have seen, it must be at least 7 foot. Large Bathroom with walk-in shower (no bath). The pool beds tended to go early but there are plenty of beds on the beach. The swimming area is roped off although I did experience a clown in a catamaran who didnât seem to know which way to go when starting off fouling his rudder with the rope. The Terrace (above the upper pool) is ideal for pre-dinner drinks and near nightly entertainment (singers and musicians). Eating: There are a few places that one can eat. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant (La Coupole) between 7 and 10.30am it also caters for Lunch 12.30 â 3.00pm and Dinner 6.30 â 9.30pm. All Meals are Buffet. Blue Marine Restaurant serves dinner from 6.30 â 9.30pm, again buffet; this is located near the beach. There is a beach bar open from 10.00am â 5.00pm serving late breakfast from 10.30 â 11.30am and snacks between 12.00 â 4.00pm. There are also speciality Restaurants that require 24 hour advance booking, these are La Toscana (Italian) and Ali Baba, both these attract an extra charge. We ate in all restaurants with the exception of Ali Baba and found the food both plentiful and appetising. Watch out for the desserts or your waistline will increase. Bars: There are bars by the top pool, off the main reception, the beach bar all serving decent beers and soft drinks etc. in most places there is also waiter service. My wife celebrated her birthday whilst there and was sent a cream cake and card to our room which I thought was a nice touch. There is nightly entertainment either on the terrace or the Arena which is situated below the La Coupole Restaurant where we had evenings of Belly dancing, Acrobats and Fire and Dance. The Staff were excellent and couldnât be more helpful, everything they did was with a large smile. The hotel is situated quite close to the Old Town and is easily reachable on foot. Donât bother with the guided tour (They visit 3 pre-arranged shops!) it is more fun just wandering around on your own. The shopkeepers will ask you to visit their shop but are not offended or pushy if you decline. We had a thoroughly excellent holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Egypt; in fact, we are breaking our habit of only visiting an establishment once by returning once more next year. It is one of the best if not the best hotel we have ever visited.More

Amazing hotel, Service Fantastic, great holiday.
We stayed here from 26th April 2015 for a week. An excellent holiday. Hotel and staff was fantastic. There were so many staff and all work so hard in making sure you enjoy your holiday, from the guys cleaning the rooms, the bar staff, the chef preparing the amazing food to the gardeners which I must add we thought the grounds and gardens were beautiful and they were constantly pruning. I doubt the gardeners get much praise but it all makes for a wonderful holiday in lovely tranquil grounds. The food was pretty impressive too, so much choice and different main courses every night. The chefs and kitchen staff came out to chat and help you so to see that you were enjoying it and also if they can be of any help. Waiters constantly topping up your wine it was a real luxury. They could not do enough for you. The beach bar was pretty cool too and the private beach was lovely. We did have a wander up and down the beach to the other bars and found it to be very disappointing, not worth doing and shame the other bars/beach areas are not to the same standard and a bit messy too. This is defiantly the best hotel/beach on the strip. Our room was fab and the bed was an absolute dream, HUGE! Only thing that we odd notice was during our stay the adult only hotel seem to be a lot of older holiday makers, 50/60+ and we are 40 so would have been nice for a few more mixed and younger ages. We did meet a few towards the end of our holiday so maybe that was just during the main part of our week. Thankyou we enjoyed our stay, xxxMore

Shame El Sheikh
We visited this hotel in April, it had a very high rating on trip advisor, we booked for 7 days, the first 3 days were really good, service, staff, accommodation, food & the hotel overall was spot on, we particularly enjoyed the entertainment. We commented on more than one occasion that this was really good value. On the 4th day we were on the beach as normal when around midday some loud rave type music started to be played from a beach bar directly next to the Iberotel, we kept calm and carried on in best tradition thinking it was a one off. The following day the music started bang on 12.00am and played to 7.00pm bang bang bang almost the same tune non stop, we ventured down the beach where we remonstrated with the hotel staff and the organisers, they advised that it was Easter celebrations and that it would continue for the next 3 days! It was unbearable! We then met with the Thompson rep who arranged a relocation to another hotel the following day albeit it was a large family resort. This was an exceptionally disappointing episode, the rave spoilt our entire break. Would we go back? If they could guarantee the bar next door was not in operation yes we would, however Thomsons and the hotel should be straight with people, they knew this was happening in advance, expectations were not managed.
