As one of Sharm El Sheikh's smaller hotels, the Iberotel Palace has got a real bolthole quality to it, which makes it a great choice for couples.
The location is impressive, too. It's set on a sandy beach, overlooking the Red Sea. Plus, it's less than a five-minute walk from the area known as Old Sharm, with its collection of restaurants and its spice market.
The facilities list is long. When you're not sunbathing by the split-level lagoon pool, you can take advantage of the tennis and volleyball courts. If you're into watersports, the hotel runs free boat trips to an offshore coral reef, where you can snorkel with tropical fish.
In the evenings, you can dine in two restaurants. La Coupole serves an international buffet, while La Toscana offers intimate Italian a la carte meals. Later, you can watch live music in the pub-style venue or work your way through the cocktail menu in the lobby bar

For someone who takes our holidays in the Caribbean we booked the Iberotel Palace apprehensively having never travelled to Egypt before bearing in mind the recent troubles ,we booked for 11 nights,I can honestly state that this was one of the hotels we have ever stayed in. service outstanding and comes with a smile ,staff are the nicest people we ever met .The hotel caters for all European clientèle so food varies for all countries and not just the Brits great range of food no complaints. If you are looking for a great relaxing chilled holiday then this is the hotel for you but if you want to party with loud music then its a no no . Snorkelling is the best I've ever experienced beats the caribbean hands down this hotel has a second beach approx a mile round the bay the hotel provides a free taxi boat to take you there this is where the best reef I've ever seen is located. Thank you Mr Ibrahim [hotel manager] for making us feel welcome with your managers cocktail evening and personnel greetings 10/10 never happens in any other hotels we stayed in.Thank you Mohamed for looking after us best barman ever will be looking forward to meeting you all again in the near future returning to this hotel is a mustMore

We stayed for 11 nights and overall had a very relaxing enjoyable stay. The most obvious highlight for the hotel was the service. It was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The main good points are that the private beach is really convenient, always managed to find a couple of loungers but did usually have to scout around/move them together as we are late risers. The daily boat to the nearby coral reef (you can also walk and takes 15-20mins) was brill, definitely bring your snorkelling kit and if you don't have any they are easy to buy, as are reef shoes & fins. We did quite a few watersports with the beach guys (speedboat, waterskiing, banana boat, doughnut etc). Weather was also good this time of year about 30-35'C but did not feel too hot. Sunset was about 4.30-5 so generally left the beach about 4ish. Hotel was extremely clean and was nice not to have kids there. Had free wifi and free laundry x2 but we did not use the latter. There were 2 main restaurants, the main one near reception La Coupole and the other Blue Marine which was next to the beach - once we discovered it we ate here every night, was lovely and romantic outside. The food was good but quite meat orientated. Typical buffet - always a winning dish but sometimes sampling quite a few average dishes to find it. The tastiest food was the Egyptian night. The Gala dinner had a bit more seafood - scrumptious prawns otherwise there was generally just white fish. The mousaka was amazing. When they did the BBQ food though they tended to do on mass and let it rest in warmers which was a shame as would have been better fresh. One person had a fish allergy and the chef went round the restaurant saying which dishes he could have. The Italian was good which you got a voucher for. I had prawns and steak which I recommend! Bar staff were lovely and would make/adjust cocktails to your tastes. Liked the Mai Tai's! White wine wasn't great but Rose/red were drinkable. The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss. The resident duo were fantastic - loved them - they had a great range of songs but I wanted some variety and the local acts were poor. I didn't mind this so much as wanted a relaxed holiday. We went to the Karoke bar a couple of times which was a good laugh. The quiz night was very popular and made a nice change. Yousef was the head of the animation team and he was such a character! The old market just opposite was good to walk round once, twice if you wanted something. There are also a couple of pharmacies which are well stocked for traveller's needs. There is an ATM just outside the hotel and a good dive shop just opposite the hotel, to the right in the shopping centre. Overall Sharm is still quieter than usual so the shopkeepers do try to get you in. You could take a taxi to Soho square/Naama Bay if you wanted. Slight negatives - if you did want to stay by the pool then minimal loungers. Once you arrive you do get the beauty team, massage team approaching you and if you either take them up on it or politely decline it wasn't a problem once they knew you. I saw that there were also 'Do not disturb' signs you could get if needed. Take ear plugs for the 4.30 am mosque prayers but you do get used to it and some (garden) rooms are not affected. One night I was bitten by mozzi's so take repellent but again easy to buy. If you want a chilled relaxing holiday then this is a great place. Can see why they have so many repeat guests.More

We as a couple have been to sharm 6 times previously, we generally go to a different hotel each time, this was our first visit to iberotel Palace, this hotel is my favourite so far, the service from all the staff was excellent, the adult only concept was definitely a bonus for us, food was wonderful with soo much choice and the pool was heated (something we have struggled with in the past in many hotels) we will definitely be returning. Not the best
We stayed here for 2weeks at the end of November, we enjoyed our stay but it wasn't as good as we had hoped. The staff in the main restaurant were fantastic the food was good with a lot of meat dishes, you would struggle if you were a veggie. We also went to the Italian twice which we had vouchers for, it was a nice change but nothing to write home about. We ate at the beach bar twice but on both occasions the food was cold. We found the staff there were rather rude, giving special treatment to guests that had obviously tipped them at the beginning of the holiday. Also the room boy came knocking on our door twice a day for the first 4days to 'check' the room was ok, we gave him a tip and funnily enough didn't hear off him again. I know that tipping is expected in Egypt but we were hassled from the moment we got off the plane. The beach is lovely but yet again the hassle spoils it, if it's not the beauty salon people, the beach boys or the spa people it's someone from the hotel chasing you round to check that you don't have any problems! There was also a lot of building work noise going on, not the hotels fault but again more noise to disturb you on the beach. We tried to get a sunbed at the pool but found it very cramped. We did a submarine trip with the boys off the beach, we payed £30 each and what a waste of time. We saw more fish while snorkelling in the sea. We also did the trip to soho square. It was a good night out and shopping there was much easier than in the old market. They say the prices are fixed but we haggled and so did everyone on our bus. We only went to the old market twice and did all our shopping in the shopping centre where we found the shop keepers easier to deal with. If you do go to the old market then cover up if your female! I wore trousers and a cardi and still got the stares from the locals. All in all it was a lovely place but not worth the money we paid and definitely doesn't deserve the stars it has.More
