Hotel Sol Y Mar Sharks Bay

Loading

This hotel opened its doors in 2009, so it has a modern, fresh feel. The bedrooms are a case in point – they’re cool and contemporary, decorated in stylish light pastel colours. Slick touches include air-conditioning, satellite TVs and minibars.

Outside, this low-level hotel fans out around a good-sized swimming pool. If you’re coming in the winter months, it’s worth pointing out the pool’s heated at this time of year. The surrounding sun terrace is decked out with cushioned loungers and the fledgling palms are beginning to take shape. If you prefer the beach, the hotel runs a shuttle service down to Naama Bay and private beach.

On the food front, it’s an All Inclusive affair – with breakfast, lunch and dinner taken care of, buffet-style. If you like a lie-in, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel lays on breakfasts up until 11.00 in the morning. Plus, afternoon tea and late-night snacks are all part of the package. And if you fancy a seafood supper under the stars, there’s also an outdoor à la carte restaurant here - it’s worth paying that little bit extra for.

Brilliant hotel and even better staff....

Had a lovely 10 days in sol y Mar with my partner. Food was fantastic, variety of different foods to suit everyone's preference. Staff very helpful throughput night and day. Towels are provided whether you stay in the hotel or go to the sister hotel with a beach with a free shuttle bus ride there. Good sized pool and a shallower one for kiddies. Rooms are all pool overlooking with balcaonies, nice and clean. Cleaner always made a different arrangement with the towels. ... Entertainment was brilliant, lovely people. Offerering a selection of different activities in the day and night.would go and again and would highly recommend to anyone. Friendly staff, clean, lovely food, lovely settings, pool. A*.. Question about airport

I am wondering if someone could help me on a question I have about this hotel, my boyfriend and I are thinking about coming here in July for a week, but we have seen on the map the hotel is extremely close to the airport, and wondering if it is very noisy with the airplanes coming in and out? Also is it cheaper and safe enough to use just a taxi from the airport to the hotel and back? As thomas cook charges you a fortune for a bus when the hotel is only a few miles away? Thanks if anyone can help me!More

Amazing

Went here for a week with my friends, had the best week ever. So relaxing, staff were fantastic couldn't do enough for us. Food was amazing, coffee couldn't get enough. Room was lovely and clean. Entertainment was great, the entertainment team were brill day and night. First time I've stayed somewhere that they provide your towels, and bring you a cold frosted cloth to cool you down in the afternoon, bring you fruit while round the pool. The day we left they even made sure we had eaten before we went, kept bringing us fruit to eat while waiting for the coach. Can't say enough bout the staff they were fantastic, became my friends. Will certainly be going back. Fantastic hot weather as well.More

Relaxing & friendly

Just come back from the most relaxing & fantastic holiday ever... lovely clean hotel...very friendly staff all round , couldn't do enough for us . The food was lovely & had plenty of variety. I went with 3 girl friends & they made us feel very safe & comfy throughout our stay... the entertainment team were so friendly & didn't pressure you to join in ic you didn't want to .... we planned to go to benidorm next but we've decided to go back to sol y mar ... it was quiet last week which made it more relaxing but planning on going august time next time so will be more busy... would recommend to anyone wanting to just rekax in the sun & be hassle free. .... also recommend visiting soho square if you don't want the hassle of haggling. ..They leave you to it & the prices are as it says .... can't wait to go back :-) More

Beyond Expectations

This was just our second visit to Sharm (first visit to the Sol Y Mar) and boy has it won our hearts! We stayed in late Feb/early March 2014. This hotel is truly amazing – made mostly by the truly amazing staff! I have never experienced such outstanding customer service and attention by all – the cleaner, bar staff, restaurant staff, lifeguard, reception, entertainment guys – I can’t even name them all. The rooms are generous in space, very clean and adequate. All rooms have a pool view. The bathroom was slightly worn but acceptable and the bed was very comfortable and large! There is mini bar in the room but other than a large bottle of water on arrival, anything else you consume is chargeable. The food offers many options at all meal times and does become a little repetitive – but the choice is always there and it was hot and fresh. There was always a chef cooking fresh meat or fish, plus pasta at evening meals. Breakfast consisted of fresh pancakes, omelettes, eggs – poached/fried – all cooked to order plus continental selection amongst other choices of fruit and Egyptian food. Drinks are served mostly in glasses, other than plastic beakers around the pool for obvious reasons, and taste lovely – (beer, spirits and cocktails were put to the test!). Entertainment varies from in-house efforts of audience participation or a professional show. The bar staff are constantly on the go, making sure you are not standing at the bar waiting for a drink and that they are at your service. The lifeguard introduced himself on our first day and asked about how much sun we like and talked about what time the shade appears around parts of the pool – he then would place towels (provided by the hotel) on our chosen sun loungers each morning! The waiting staff in the restaurant are phenomenal. Immediately at your service from the moment you walk in the door until you walk out – attending to your every need, with the occasional wind up to catch you out! We will definitely be returning to this hotel, it is home from home and totally fabulous. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I would recommend this hotel more for couples. There is lovely big pool and whilst there is a child’s pool, there is little else for children. The floor around the pool also becomes quite slippery so it’s not the safest when wet. There are a number of steps at the hotel - not loads - but you do have to use steps to get down to the pool and up to the bar. Again, not a major issue but something to note. I can't be sure if there is a lift but there might be. Can’t wait to return and thank you for such a wonderful holiday.More
