The Sol Y Mar Sharks Bay offers up contemporary rooms and All Inclusive dining. There's a large pool, too, and a shuttle bus that'll run you down to the hotel's private beach.
This hotel opened its doors in 2009, so it has a modern, fresh feel. The bedrooms are a case in point – they’re cool and contemporary, decorated in stylish light pastel colours. Slick touches include air-conditioning, satellite TVs and minibars.
Outside, this low-level hotel fans out around a good-sized swimming pool. If you’re coming in the winter months, it’s worth pointing out the pool’s heated at this time of year. The surrounding sun terrace is decked out with cushioned loungers and the fledgling palms are beginning to take shape. If you prefer the beach, the hotel runs a shuttle service down to Naama Bay and private beach.
On the food front, it’s an All Inclusive affair – with breakfast, lunch and dinner taken care of, buffet-style. If you like a lie-in, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel lays on breakfasts up until 11.00 in the morning. Plus, afternoon tea is part of the package. And if you fancy a seafood supper under the stars, there’s also an outdoor à la carte restaurant here - it’s worth paying that little bit extra for.

Afternoon tea and coffee 16.00-17.00. Selected local-brand alcohol and soft drinks until 24.00.

I had been to Sharm 4 times already and I was a little concerned when I saw this was a small hotel but I was very wrong. Small hotel with an enormous heart. Faultless service, fabulous staff, wonderful food, even brought fruit and ice creams around to the bathers by the pool when it got hot. Never lifted a finger and nothing, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Very few children (happy with that) but those that were there were loved by the staff. a very special mention to Ibrahim in reception who was brilliant, and Mohamed my waiter - who made me (and everyone) feel so very special and just showed that service with a smile is everything. I love this hotel and will definitely go backMore

Stay at Sol y Mar
We stayed at the Sol y Mar for 10 days in March. The staff were great throughout and are definitely the best asset for the hotel.
The hotel was clean and the cleanliness of the rooms each day was excellent .
The food was varied and catered for all needs - something for everyone, the service in the hotel was great - the waiters extremely friendly.
The hotel is a little in the middle of nowhere so factor in taxis and shuttle buses down to Naama and the beach.
The bar staff were very efficient and were more than happy to help wherever possible.
The entertainment was pretty much non existent though - the same song every morning and a game of water polo every afternoon is about it although we were informed that the 'entertainment' staff were new so they are perhaps different now. Not much if you were bringing children here.
Overall, the hotel was good, extremely close to the airport (10 mins in taxi) and catered for our needs. I would stay again and thanks to the staff as they really did make the stay.More
Great holiday for 3 star
Really enjoyed this hotel the staff and entertainment are great and really go out there way to make your hol great. Food was also good and the choice varied everyday. You also get use of a hotel down the road via a free hotel bus for a beach and it provides inclusive drinks and snacks at no extra cost.
Only downside there was a lot of maintenance going on and spoilt the glamour of it and the wifi is not free at a cost of 10euro for 250mb.
Would highly recommend and return ourselves. It's 10 min from soho square a a 15 to Nama bay .More
