Dreams Vacation Resort

in Sharm El Sheikh , Egypt - Red Sea T rating: 4

  • Superb snorkelling
  • 5 swimming pools
  • Lots of activities
With five swimming pools and a long list of activities, the Dreams Vacation Resort was made for action-packed holidays.
A large All Inclusive hotel, this place offers up activities and entertainment around the clock. The sporty crowd should make a beeline for the basketball or volleyball courts, while those with a competitive edge will love the daytime programme of games and quizzes. In the evenings, meanwhile, cabaret shows are held in the open-air amphitheatre.

Another great thing about this place is the pool scene. Five lagoon-like pools weave their way around the complex, accessorised with tall palms and straw umbrellas. One of them even has its own waterslide.

As for the bedrooms, they’re housed in low-level buildings dotted around the grounds. Inside, they’re spacious and well-dressed. Whitewashed walls are contrasted with a brightly-coloured feature wall, while glass balcony doors let in plenty of light. Each room comes with air-conditioning and a satellite TV, too.

Last but not least, a word on dining. Large buffets come courtesy of the main restaurant, while the à la carte Mexican does a mean line in fajitas and enchiladas. When you really want to splash out though, book a table at the Asia House. With its red pillars, traditional lanterns and soft drapes, its décor is every bit as impressive as its food.

Your guide to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt - Red Sea

"Top diving, great nightlife and near-endless sunshine. Sharm El Sheikh hits the mark for scuba fans, beach lovers and party-goers.”

Perched on the southernmost tip of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, Sharm El Sheikh is drenched in hot, hot sunshine – we’re talking average temperatures of 37 degrees in July and August. Even the winter months tend to stay warm and dry, with rain a rarity. It’s no wonder it’s become the place to holiday in recent years.

Everything Sharm has to offer comes down to its location. Once a sleepy fishing village, it now spreads between Nabq Bay in the north, down through the tourist heart of Naama Bay, to Maya Bay in the south, ticking off Dahab in the process. Wherever you are, look one way and you’ll see the rocky landscapes of the Sinai Desert. Look the other, and you’ll clock what most people come here for – the Red Sea. With incredible coral reefs, shipwrecks and marine life all basking in its warm waters, this is one of the world’s blockbuster scuba spots.

And that’s not all. There are still the luxury hotels, fabulous shopping malls and endless supply of restaurants to think about. Not to mention the camel treks and desert excursions. All topped with a large helping of electrifying nightlife.
