Coral Sea Aqua Club

This family-friendly hotel comes with its own waterpark. And it puts you within easy reach of a sandy beach.

The waterpark is the star attraction at this hotel. It features things like a bowl slide and a lazy river. There are 2 big pools here, as well. Meanwhile, meals are covered in 4 restaurants, including an American diner.

Live shows provide the after-dark entertainment. And for more choice you’re just a 2-minute walk from the lively El-Khan district. As for the beach, there’s a sandy stretch about a 10 to 15-minute walk away.

Spend the day trying out the rides here, with a wave pool and lazy river for some chilled out fun or a bowl slide, Flowrider surf simulator, multi-lane slide and speed slide for a few more thrills. There's also a children's splash area so the whole family can enjoy the waterpark.

Like an old friend

Returned here on 8/10 and stayed in rooms 5110 and 5117 both of these rooms were excellent , only feet from the large pool area. 5117 has a small terrace while 5110 is larger as the terrace has been incorporated into the room itself. All of the staff met and exceeded my expectations , front of house were efficient , while being friendly and welcoming , even when under pressure dealing with gluts of new guests arriving en mass. The restaurant , pool and room staff continue to set high stands while attending to guests needs and requests. Wifi was free within the main reception bar and downstairs at the restaurants. The speeds were good. Nice to see Mr Bean still at the hotel, the man to go to for gifts including watches bags and other leather and electrical goods I look forward to returning again in the new yearMore

Coral Sea Aqua Club Family Holiday - October 2014

Travelled to the Coral Sea Aqua Club with my wife and 2 children for 1 week in October 2014. First impressions of the hotel are good, clean reception with attentive staff. We were checked in quickly, shown to the restaurant for late night food and then escorted to our room (which was quite a long way from reception). Our room (3214) was a good distance from the main hotel building and involved a series of stair climbs which wasn't really suitable for 2 small children and buggy. However its difficult to get a real feel for the place on arrival as everything is set to the rear of the property and arriving during the night means it's always a little confusing. Room We had a large family room with separate twin bedroom which was great for the kids. The main bedroom was big enough and easily accommodated a super king bed. Our main issue arose on the first night when it became clear that as our room had an interconnecting door with the adjacent guests there was absolutely zero sound proofing between the rooms. Sounds aren't muffled in the slightest and you will hear everything whether you like it or not. This was raised with the Thomson team who to be fair recognised the issue and promised to resolve it if it became a real problem. Fortunately our neighbours were a quiet bunch and we kept our kids volume turned down along with our TV at night. However its something that should be addressed by the hotel. Room amenities are pretty standard although the selection of TV channels is very poor and although the TV has a USB input you can't play any movies using this method as the remote is non standard. Pool There are plenty of options to catch some sun and swim by the adult pool or in the water park. The only problem is finding a bed! Seeing other guests up at 0630 reserving sun loungers is a nonsense as supposedly the hotel staff has rules against reserving beds pre 0800hrs. I don't know what the answer is but getting up at 7am on holiday to put towels down is madness!! The kids are well catered for with pools, slides, lazy river and flumes. Food There is plenty of choice albeit served in a self service, canteen format. The staff are really attentive and always on hand to assist. There are also plenty of options during the day at the snack bars or in the main restaurant. You can dine " a la carte" as part of the AI package but the choice was limited and there wasn't much choice on the menus. Entertainment Hit and miss to be honest. Some good UK acts later in the veneing but the Thomson the Dog routine does become very repetitive for those with kids but it's for the wee ones and they loved it. Be aware of the mosquitoes though when outside at night. There were a huge number of guests with a join the dot display of bites!! Thomson Kids Club Very impressed with the Thomson's team. The kids had a great time and clearly thought the staff were brilliant. Just be sure to ask when the sessions are and if any are payable. Out and About We used Falcon Adventures across from the hotel. Arranged a private boat for the day with some friends and the day couldn't have been better. Our own boat and crew for a days snorkelling, sailing and lunch. Well organised and very safe. We also used the team for a trip to Soho Square and to hire a wifi router. The Falcon team (Moody, Gemma, Max etc) can't do enough and are highly recommended. Just tell them what you would like to do and they will sort it out. We also used the sister hotel across the road (The Red Sea Village) for a day at the beach. The hotel will organise a packed lunch and have it ready for you in the morning. We also ate at the Hard Rock Cafe down the road and next door at the Pub (best of the lot). Overall an average package holiday type of hotel although you could be anywhere from Majorca to Cyprus with the exception that the weather at this time of year is perfect. Would we return? No, it wasn't for us but clearly there are a lot of return guests who love the place and the kids thought it was great. The staff are very good and the Thomson team (especially the Kids Club girls) are superb.More

Alex M,

Great Place, Great Staff....

As a regular visitor to this hotel, i would like to share some of my thoughts regarding the experience that I have had on 7 separate visits in 2 years. Firstly, and most importantly in my view is the staff, they are the heartbeat of the hotel and do a fantastic job in making guests feel welcome and appreciated. This is through all departments, from the cleaners, waiters, chefs, reception staff, bar staff, pool attendants and management. Myself and my party of 9 repeat guests would firstly like to thank Carolin, who is the hotels guest relations contact. Having personally visited hotels across the globe and having experienced some of the best hospitality around, Carolin raises the standard to a new level, she makes it her top priority to ensure guests enjoy their holiday, that they get the most from the hotel and what it and the surrounding area has to offer. I personally contact her prior to leaving the UK and anything that we ask for, no matter how obscure, she does her very best to accommodate. The hotel management should be proud that she is the contact with their guests and an ambassador for the company. We felt so strongly about this that we brought her a gift from the UK on this occasion, simply to show our appreciation for what she has done for us over a fairly short period of time. We also invited her to join our party for a family birthday celebration on her day off, which shows in what high regard we hold her. Simply put, Carolin is one of the main reasons we have visited this hotel 7 times in less than 2 years, and will return again. The food options in the hotel is great, I would say that even the fussiest eater could find something that they like, after breakfast closes they have rolls, cakes and coffee in the lobby bar, soon after they have a barbecue which rotates between steak, chicken, burgers etc on a daily basis, this is followed by 2 pool bars that open at lunch time serving freshly made pizza, toasted sandwiches, hot dogs etc, not to mention the buffet restaurant that offers a great selection of starters, main courses and desserts. In the evenings the hotel again offers the buffet restaurant, the stone grill (at a small cost), a Chinese restaurant and an American diner and on occasion this is topped up with a BBQ just outside the buffet which can be taken inside and combined with a main meal. There is many activities at the hotel, a main pool, wave pool, 2 kids pools, a lazy river, a flowrider (surf machine) and lots of flumes for all ages. You can also choose to join in the entertainment teams activities or opt for a game of table tennis or pool. Bar facilities on offer are excellent, with a sports bar, lobby bar, entertainment area and many pool bars dotted around the complex, all offering waiter service if required. I could write much more and thank many more staff regarding this hotel but time doesn't permit, suffice to say that I would say that this is a complex which exceeds all expectations and that I would recommend it without hesitation. Again, a big thank you to the staff at the Coral Sea Aqua Club for making our trips so enjoyable, and one final mention to Carolin, the star of the show! See you all soon !!!More
