Made up of two storey, low-level terracotta-coloured buildings, this place has quite a village feel to it. The grounds are dotted with palms, little wooden bridges and clusters of sage-green tables and chairs.
But it’s the two swimming pools that attract the most attention. The main one is a big curvy number that snakes through the grounds. As for the other one, it is smaller but just as inviting - you’ll find them round by the rooms that come with a pool view.
Speaking of rooms, they’ve been styled with a contemporary eye. They come in two colour schemes - blue and terracotta - but whichever one you get it’ll be kitted out with extras like tea-and-coffee kits, mini-fridge and large flatscreen TVs. What’s more, decent-sized balconies or terraces come as standard, set to either pool, sea or garden views.
Elsewhere, there are four restaurants to tempt you. The main restaurant is a buffet affair with a live cooking station, so you can see the dishes being rustled up in front of you. You’ll also find three à la carte eateries here: the Plateau outdoor grill and seafood restaurant, the Zeit Zatoon for Mediterranean dishes and the Marsa Club House with fusion cuisine.

The largest pool winds its way around the grounds, amongst the palm trees and sun loungers.
The Space international buffet restaurant
With grand high ceilings, marble floor and fine wooden pillars, the Space restaurant certainly lives up to its name. Offering an international buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The smaller of the two pools is heated in the winter season and it has a children's area.

Our first visit to this hotel.... All I can say is that we had an absolute fabulous holiday, the staff all around the hotel are great and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing is to much trouble, the food variety was excellent, the head chief even made us a curry for 4 people, ( at no extra charge ) which was delicious. The staff in the restaurant. Sami, Emad, Mahamed, to name a few, where all very friendly, as were the poolside bar,(Alaa, Nokia,) and Alam bar staff (Abdo, Ahmed,) The animation team (Alex Danny, & Julia )are brilliant, they don't pester you constantly to join in, although it's good fun if you do. The rooms are clean and spacious, as is the whole hotel. There are plenty of sunbeds around the poolside and at the beach, so no need to be up at. The crack of dawn to get one. The gardens are kept imaculate. The one and only thing to mention is Toilets around the pool area.... There are none... You either need to go down to the beach, up to reception, or to your room...... So don't leave it to the last minute. Thank you to all of the staff who made our stay so good. Lynn ( England, the singing lady x )More

We have just got back from a week at the Resta Grand hotel Marsa Alam Egypt and wanted to say what a great time we had there. The hotel is a relaxing place to stay very clean and tidy and all the staff very pleasant, eager to help and always polite and smiling. The restaurant's served a wide choice of food with excellent service. The pools were always very clean and the surrounding grounds well kept and tidy. We went on one of the diving trips with Colona which was well organised and a fun day out, we also went on the snorkelling trip to Hamata islands once again very well organised and another great day out. Our holiday was arranged through Thompsons and we would like to thank our rep Yaz and our snorkelling guide Yazim ( I think I've spelt that right) for taking care of us and being very informative. Although Egypt is always in the media for trouble we had no problems and as long as you take note of your tour company's advice I cant see any problems visiting this country. To sum up a great place to go for chilled out holiday with some sunshine thrown in.More

Sam is the man
Visited resta grand reef 29 th January for one week. What a great hotel , the staff were all so. Friendly, Sam the bar man was brilliant, he was always on the ball with drinks and could not do enough for us, we did tip him but he still was very attentive. The other person was Alex the animation guy he was great was so full of life. It was a shame that the black flag for swimming was out apart from two days, the fish off the pier was amazing when you could go in. Pity the beach bar was closed , as there were not enough people at the hotel. The only problem was the crows, they kept trying to get food from the containers near the pool bar, also the bird droppings on. The hair covers were a pain. Generally. We had a great time best friendliest hotel ever, well done all the staff, I do hope more people visit marsa alum it is lovely. Janet and. Barry Chichester englandMore

Great Holiday in a Great Hotel
We stayed for a week from 12/2 - 19/2 and had a great time. The hotel put a lot of effort into Valentine's day and this was appreciated. The Hotel itself is lovely, very clean with superb facilities. The main part of the hotel (Restaurants/Bar) is spotless and very comfortable. The gardens are kept immaculate by the hard working gardeners, who would always say good morning etc.. when you walked passed. The pools were spotless and it was so nice to see maintenance being carried out over night (bridges over pool resprayed) rather than during the day and facilities being closed. Hotels do need to carry out maintenance at some time. The sunbeds by the pool are the most comfortable we have found, metal beds with lovely thick mattresses on them. The pool bar serves a wide range of drinks including cocktails, tea coffee etc... The hotel is located directly on the beach with its own jetty. We snorkelled off the beach and it was amazing. It was 25-28 most days with the odd breezy day, but it was a warm welcome breeze. The food was very good, the best I have tasted in Egypt so far. Very tasty and a lovely fresh salad bar. The staff certainly made this holiday for us, thanks to Abdul and Sam in the Marsa Club bar, Mustafa our room cleaner (Room 4303), Michael Reception and Yassin the Thomson rep. If we ever needed any information or had a problem, Reception are brilliant and sorted it straight away, we could not fault the service at all. Now this hotel is in the middle of nowhere so be prepared for a week of sunbed time, unless you go on the excursions. We were not looking for the nightlife, activities etc on this holiday so a week of relaxation, suited us. It is a quiet but growing resort and in a few years I am sure Marsa will be busier. Downsides Thomson are pulling out of this hotel, but they do offer accommodation in other hotels in Marsa, which we would love to visit, as long as Thomson keep flying direct to Marsa. We would not fly into Hurghada and then spend 3 hours on a coach. The entertainment was typical of Egyptian hotels belly dances, tanoura etc... however this was not the best we have seen and if you stay for 2 weeks, you get to see all the same stuff twice. The animation team were friendly and understood if you did not want to take part in something, but if you are not into keep fit or dancing then the entertainment was limited. As long as the direct flights are available we would return, especially as it is so nice to see a great range of people in Egypt (Dutch/Italian/Swedish etc..) and not many Russians.More
