This stylish hotel puts you on the edge of a sandy beach and a beautiful coral reef. And it’s got three big pools, too.
This elegant hotel is tucked in a half-moon cove. The house reef makes it a prime dive spot, and there’s a diving centre on the beach. There are three pools, too, plus you get free entry to a nearby waterpark.
There are two choices when it comes to food – the buffet restaurant or the beach bar, which does lunchtime snacks. After-dinner entertainment comes in the form of live shows, with singers, fire-eaters and more.

This is our third time back to Jaz Lamaya
Had a two week break. On arriving was greeted as if we were old friends. The reception staff immediately recognised us and welcomed us with handshakes and kisses. We had requested a certain room in advance and we delighted to have this. Our cleaner Emad was absolutely brilliant. He was helpful, polite and above all a really good cleaner. The pool bar staff remembered us and treated us like royalty. The waiters in the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. This is a 5 star hotel and is brilliant. We met some lovely people out there, especially Liz and Richard, who live in France who helped make our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with them. Congratulations to everybody in Lamaya and see you all soon.More
Just come back from a lovely week in Jaz Lamaya , lovely hotel with really brilliant staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful, really clean and well maintained hotel. We did lots of lazing about the pool but also had plenty to do, snorkelling, swimming, table tennis, boules on the beach and pool in the evening.More
Review 2017 (April-May)
Here we are again, yet a further visit to this great hotel. It's amazing that with all the bad press which Egypt has had, everything remains the same at Jaz Lamaya. The wonderful staff are much the same and offer, as always, a friendly and efficient service. It was wonderful to be welcomed back by everyone and with such sincerity. I have done many reviews in the past and really cannot add much to what has already been said. The gardens are still as pristine as always; the rooms are always cleaned thoroughly and the bedlinen changed regularly; towels changed daily and tea and coffee facilities in the room. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom together with an assortment of toiletries. Nothing is too much trouble and if you want anything other than what is on offer you only have to ask. The food is good and plentiful and you need have no fear that the drinks are watered down. There is no restriction on drinks but nobody seems to over indulge. It was quite multi cultural with Italians, Dutch, Germans, Polish, Czechs as well as English. We were once again invited to the Asian Restaurant for a meal but as we do not eat Indian cuisine we were able to arrange to have a chicken meal. We booked a Sunset Cruise excursion with the Thomson adviser who arranged for a beautiful cake and champagne to be served on board to celebrate our recent 50th wedding anniversary. I was pleased to be able to swim with turtles on this trip. The Thomson holiday advisers are really good and will solve any problems you may have. They are always in the hotel when they say they will be. The animation team are great and even if you don't want to join in they still make a point of walking round the pool to speak to you and ask if you are OK. They work very hard to produce a show in the amphitheatre most evenings and there is live music at the terrace bar most evenings. There is a pier at this property where the divers and snorkelers enter the sea and where you can walk to see the beautiful corals and fish. We saw Eagle Rays. There are a few shops in the immediate vicinity with more shopping opportunities in Port Ghalib. Please be assured that Marsa Alam is a safe place, but be aware that you may be held up at the airport on your return journey. By the time we had cleared security on the ground floor, the plane was boarding upstairs. Despite having packed our tablets in the case, security found it necessary to make us open our cases to see them. A really family friendly hotel with incredible staff who should all, without exception, be commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. We look forward to returning soon. WELL DONE EVERYONE AT JAZ LAMAYA.More
