Third holiday at PLR. Excellent!!
We returned a few days ago from our third stay at PLR. Everything was excellent again. We booked the Jacuzzi Deluxe Room which was on offer with Thomson on booking. At first I was a bit reserved at the location of the rooms as I have a personal thing about sitting in the sun first thing in the morning but the Jacuzzi Deluxe rooms are on the side of the hotel that is shaded in the mornings. I have to say, Olia and Mr F both said the rooms were lovely and they were right. So much so that morning sunshine wasn't as much of an issue as I thought it may be. Thank you both! The style of the Jacuzzi Room is gorgeous, everything is very stylish. On previous visits to PLR we have found the entertainment was a bit lacking however, this time there was an Animation Team there. Sadly there were a few guests complaining about music being played whilst the Aqua Aerobics was taking place. Now although I do appreciate that some older guests have booked PLR due to the quiet and relaxing nature of the hotel but I honestly think people need to realise that half an hour out of a day isn't a deal breaker and it's certainly not enough to ruin a holiday. There are plenty of hours in the day to enjoy the peace and quiet. The instructor Lito was very aware of the fact some people weren't happy and he really is such a lovely, genuine young guy who wanted so much to please ppl and do well. Lito and Sandra both interact extremely well with guests without being 'pushy' or 'in your face' and there were quite a few people, men and women who joined in and thoroughly enjoyed the Aqua Aerobics. To hear some music other than the 'instrumental' looped music around the Main Pool was great and it was even better to hear people enjoying themselves and having a good laugh. Evenings generally at the Pool Bar were fun too. International Dance evening was brilliant and the dancers were very, very good. There was one young girl singing one evening at the Pool Bar.......sadly this seemed to be nothing more than a 'one man karaoke' evening. She didn't have the best voice and clearly had no idea of the words to the songs she was attempting to sing.....in our opinion it was awful. I believe the hotel had booked her and she wasn't part of the Animation Team. Regarding the Animation Team: I really do hope that potential/returning guests reserve judgement until they've seen how much fun things can be at PLR with the Animation Team, rather than get their knickers in a twist before they've even got there. At the end of the day, things need to move with the times and I do think that by having the Animation Team at PLR the management are giving guests the best of both worlds i.e the relaxing element but also a bit of a fun element too and I applaud this. Thank you Lito and Sandra for the entertainment, you are both lovely genuine people and we sincerely hope management keep you there for a while yet. During this stay at PLR we actually pulled our fingers out and booked the Restaurants. The Italian, Mediterranean and the Chinese......all 3 are excellent. Food and service was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. Sadly we missed seeing a couple of the guys this time, Abdo we hope to see you next time. As always, Carlos worked extremely hard. The hotel was a fair bit busier this time but Carlos takes it all in his stride and continues to provide a fantastic level of service and all the while his humour and smiles makes guests feel so comfortable. A return visit to PLR feels like coming home. Overall the hotel, grounds, staff and management continue to make PLR an amazing place to be. From the Gardeners, Cleaners, Restaurant staff, right up to Management......you work so hard and we thank you all for making our holidays at PLR what they are. I really can't recommend PLR enough, anyone who is contemplating booking their holiday here..........you won't regret it! We look forward to our Next holiday at Premier Le Reve.More
Amazing relaxing holiday
Having read lots of Trip Advisor reviews for PLR, we anticipated this to be an amazing resort and quite frankly it exceeded all expectations from the 1st minute to the last. The reception was well organised, relaxed and smoothly run. On opening the room door we entered a spacious, well-appointed and welcoming environment. This combined with a huge bathroom with a shower cubicle AND a bath with shower over gave us a great base for our stay. The room was always well maintained and provisioned by 2 great guys, Ali Ahmed for the 2nd week and we've lost the name of the guy from the 1st week (sorry) :-( Both were really attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Free Wi-Fi was found throughout the building and outside by the pool. Food wise, always of a high standard and multiple choices for every meal time no matter how much or how little was required. Most of the food was prepared in small batches & regularly replenished. Everything was fresh, nothing was allowed to spoil. Apparently the chicken pie has become legendary! It was gorgeous! Just what you needed after a 5 1/2 hr flight!!! :-D ALL the A La Carte restaurants we dined in were fantastic & we wouldn't place one above any of the others which leads to the Gala evening on Thursdays in the Turquoise Restaurant. All the staff and chefs really pull out all the stops to make this the highlight of the week. Special shout out to all the guys all the pool bar who keep everyone well hydrated with both alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks all the time plus fresh fruit cocktail in the morning. All the waiters in all the bars are very proficient and attentive, catering for all your requirements. Many thanks to all the staff (from the gardeners through to the management) for making this a most pleasant and relaxing holiday. This hotel should really be more than a 5 star rating as it exceeds expectations on all levels. One cautionary note, please be aware that many of the people offering services are not representatives of the hotel. They are 3rd party/franchise elements as are the shops in the galleria. To prevent potential misunderstandings always ask for clarity on what is being offered including the price, always haggle as the 1st price offered will be well over the top for what you may actually eventually end up with. (Nowts' fo' free) Many thanks to all at the Premier Le Reve for a fantastic holiday that we'll never forget!!!More
Another piece of heaven.
Just got back from our 5th or 6th visit, everything just as remembered. Wonderful staff, food, weather. Couldn't want for anything more. Staff go over and above what they need to. Lovely luxurious respite. Spoiled thoroughly!! More
stayed 5th-12th june 2017. weather hot and sunny all week. room big. bed very big and comfy. shower very nice. we had room on top floor very nice view. hotel not as big as I expected but very nice. not overly busy, plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas available round all the pools and on the beach. relaxed atmosphere with the drinks guys pretty good at coming round. to swim or snorkel in sea had to walk along a big jetty to get passed the coral. not too deep could see lots of fish from in the water or on the jetty. in the evening not much entertainment a singer most nights but that suited us. no kids in hotel so very chilled. by the pool bar in the evenings well done to the barman Hany. he smiled all the time and was super quick and efficient at keeping the drinks coming. we ate at 3 restaurants liked them all Chinese and mediteranean better than the Italian in my opinion. the main buffet restaurant food in the evenings and at lunch very good, found breakfast choice a bit limited, my wife likes fruit and said the selection of fruit was a bit poor. a couple of days before heading home I did come down with diarrhoea which was a bit annoying, to my knowledge no one else at our hotel had the same problem but at the airport on the way back I spoke to a few people from other hotels who had the same issue. I did speak to the manager of the hotel about my issue and to be fair he handled it very well, he spoke to me at length, gave me a complimentary late check out on the last day and met me at the buffet that evening and got the chef to prepare a meal specially for me that would go down nicely. I have to say well done to him and that if you judge a hotel by how they deal with an issue then full marks here. overall I would say come here if you want to relax do very little enjoy nice weather and have nice staff dealing with you.More
