Honeymoon Heaven In Mauritius

If you’re considering a honeymoon in Mauritius, read on. We’ve picked out our favourite hotels for a romantic Indian Ocean getaway…

With wedding dress-white sands, year-round sunshine and a roll call of luxury hotels, it’s no wonder Mauritius is considered the dream honeymoon destination. It’s so good, in fact, it was awarded the title of World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination 2013 at the World Travel Awards.

If you’re thinking of heading here for your honeymoon, take a look at our pick of some of the best hotels in our collection according to the kind of thing you’re after…

“We want our hotel to come with an amazing spa for his-and-hers relaxation.”

Try… Le Touessrok

Treatments at this 5-star hotel’s renowned Givenchy spa include 4-hands massages and heated seaweed body wraps. When you’re not being pampered, you’ve got a Championship golf course (with sea views, of course), waiter-serviced swimming pools, and a private island to play Robinson Crusoe on.

There’s also… Ambre Resort and Spa

There are treats like mint and aloe vera body wraps, white tea facials, and vanilla and cinnamon scrubs here, plus a hot tub hidden away in greenery and a relaxation pavilion with sea views made for Instagramming.

“We like smaller hotels where we can get a taste of local life.”

Try… Tropical Attitude

This place was handpicked for Thomson’s Small & Friendly range – a collection of intimate hotels with an authentic feel. Rooms are set in pretty, Creole-style beach houses, and they all overlook the lagoon. There’s a small pool and a restaurant serving local dishes, plus free boat trips to the nearby island of Ile aux Cerfs. You’re a 20-minute stroll from the fishing village of Trou d’eau Douce, too.

There’s also… Bougainville Attitude

Bougainville Attitude is also in easy reach of Trou d’eau Douce, plus there’s a bus stop right outside where you can catch services to Belle Mare and Centre du Flacq market. The hotel’s set in lush greenery next to Belle Mare Beach – tucked among the trees you’ve got a little pool, a beach bar and a restaurant.

“My other half loves watersports, but I still want an intimate, romantic feel.”

Try… Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel

The lagoon here is one of Mauritius’ best wind and kite-surfing spots, plus there’s a calm creek where you can try paddle-boarding and take out double kayaks. As for romance, you’ll find ‘love nests’ – private sunbathing platforms for 2 – dotted around the grounds, and stilted huts overlooking the beach and creek for dinners à deux.

There’s also… Blumarine Attitude

As well as all the usuals – snorkelling, sailing, diving – this place offers more unusual activities, like water-skiing and kite-surfing. Stay in the adults-only boutique part of the resort and you’ll also get a couple of quiet pools, a chic restaurant, and a room that comes with fluffy robes and fruit platters.

“We want to have our wedding in Mauritius, too.”

Try… Sugar Beach

Where better to tie the knot than on one of the best beaches in the Indian Ocean? Get married at this super-luxe hotel and you can exchange vows on the white sands, against a backdrop of palms and mountains. Some of the restaurants here are on the beach, too, so you won’t even need to stray from the sand for your wedding breakfast.

There’s also… LUX* Grand Gaube

You can get married on the beach or in tropical gardens here, but our favourite spot is the teeny pontoon that’s moored out in the bay. Once you’ve sealed the deal, let your loved ones know – the hotel offers free calls home from its quirky red telephone box.

    Dear Sir/Madam

My husband and I have just returned from the Grand Efe Hotel at Ozdere Turkey. This hotel is fantastic the food is good, the entertainment is brilliant and the entertainment team are fantastic for adults and children. The hotel is overlooking the sea and it is an all inclusive hotel.

When we were there, there was only 7 British people there because British people have not heard of this hotel/place in Turkey because it is not on the major travel companies. We only heard of it through friends who work there.

When we booked our travel agent had to book it by booking everything separate but we like booking holidays as a package so I highly recommend this hotel for your company so British people will hear about it.

    Your regards

Hi, I have been attempting to print out boarding passes for our family holiday…all the logos, headers are there, but no passenger information is appearing. Am I doing something wrong?

Spoiled ҟittens only do what they want, when they want. Instead of you telling the cat to
avoid the furnitսre, let the fսrniture itself tell the cat to stay away.
