Today’s the day our latest set of brochures hit the shelves, so we thought we’d give you a rundown of what’s inside. There are 5 brochures in the line-up, showcasing holidays from November 2012 all the way through to October 2013. Here’s what to expect when you flick through each one…
This one’s a taster of our short-haul and mid-haul holidays from May 2013 to October 2013, and you’ll find the full range of breaks online. Destination-wise, you’ll notice a new name on the books. Costa Almeria, on the Spanish coast, is home to Roquetas de Mar – a former fishing village that’s set to be a big hit with families thanks to a good quota of Blue Flag beaches and a large dose of traditional charm.
On top of that, there’s a brand new Sensatori resort being built. Sensatori Turkey will be ready for a grand unveiling in May 2013, and with 5 à la carte restaurants, 5 pools, and a prime beachfront setting, it’ll have all the hallmarks of our Sensatori hotels.
Faraway Shores and Florida
Three little words are on everybody’s lips when it comes to our long-haul brochures – Thomson 787 Dreamliner. In May 2013, Thomson will be the first UK airline to fly the revolutionary plane, and you can be one of the first to step onboard. Flights on the Dreamliner are now on sale for selected routes to Mexico and Florida in summer 2013, and you can read up on the full list of the super-jet’s high-tech features here and in the new long-haul brochures.
Dreamliner aside, 2 long-haul hotels have made their way into the Thomson Couples collection – Vilamendhoo Couples Resort & Spa in the Maldives, and RIU Palace Macao in the Dominican Republic. The Florida brochure, meanwhile, is now even easier to navigate – we’ve put together a list of our favourite Florida properties and flagged them with a ‘We Recommend’ tag. As for dates, both brochures cover holidays from November 2012 through to October 2013.
Saying your vows between November 2012 and October 2013? Leaf through the new Thomson Weddings brochure and you’ll notice there’s a new destination on the cards. You can now tie the knot Caribbean-style in Barbados – where powdery white sands and swaying palms are par for the course. And there are some new faces elsewhere in the brochure, too, in the form of new hotels like Jamaica’s Blau Costa Verde and Cancun’s Azul Beach.
Pick up a Thomson Cruises brochure and – if you’ve been reading the blog – you might already be familiar with some of the changes we’ve got in store. For starters, Thomson Cruises will welcome another ship – Thomson Majesty – into the fleet from May 2012. She’ll replace Thomson Destiny as part of a fully-fledged modernisation plan. Speaking of which, two other ships in the fleet – Thomson Dream and Thomson Celebration – will be treated to multi-million pound makeovers in order to join the Thomson Platinum collection. To make the grade, they had to score ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ with at least 90% of customers, just like the hotels in this range.
Not to be outdone, Island Cruises – Thomson’s sister brand – is riding the wave of change, too. From March 2013, the brand will be All Inclusive, which means you can count on meals and drinks being part of the package once you’re onboard.
Only from Thomson
As if that lot wasn’t enough, there’s one more big change to tell you about. From May 2013, all our holidays – with the exception of those to Florida – will be exclusively available from Thomson. It means we can handpick the very best hotels, and you no longer have to shop around.
Just another day in the office…
To mark the launch of the new brochures, there’s been all sorts going on at Thomson HQ today. We’ve been taking part in Guinness World Records attempts inspired by our Thomson Family Resorts and cookery demonstrations inspired by Thomson Couples taster sessions, and even the canteen took on a distinctly international flavour, with Spanish dishes on offer at lunch. Here are a couple of snaps from the day.
