A Royal Debut – Thomson Majesty

The wintry weather might be back out in force this week, but here at Thomson we’ve got some news that’ll brighten up your day.

Thomson MajestyWe’re excited to announce that Thomson Cruises is welcoming another cruise ship – Thomson Majesty – into its ranks. She’ll be replacing Thomson Destiny, who’s retiring from the fleet after seven years.

So, what can you expect from the switch? Well, Thomson Majesty is spacious and modern, with cabins decked out in a contemporary style. Thomson Majesty also plays host to five restaurants and the full range of bars and entertainment venues – think stylish piano bars and lounges that bring you the best in entertainment. Another of the ship’s standout features is its spa. With two saunas and seven themed treatment rooms – including a couples’ massage room – it’s the ultimate relaxation zone.

Fraser Ellacott, Managing Director of Thomson Cruises, says: “We’re thrilled to be announcing that Thomson Majesty will be joining our fleet as part of our modernisation plans. Majesty is a fantastic ship with great onboard facilities, more outside cabins, and the same first-rate service you’d expect from Thomson Cruises.”

Thomson Majesty will be taking to the seas on 4th May 2012, when she sets sail from Corfu for the Adriatic Explorer cruise. She’ll then spend the winter in the Canaries, before heading back to the Eastern Mediterranean for summer 2013. Check out the Thomson Cruises website for the full rundown of itineraries.

Well just got back from week on Majesty and it was fantastic. Crew, staff, entertainment, ports, food and cabins were terrific. Ive been on most Thomson ships and this compares favourably. There were some professional moaners on board but there always is. Beth the singer is brilliant and Jack on the entertainment team is a good laugh. Steven Michaels is a former Drifter and he was first rate. Phil Doyle needs some new material cos hes doing the same stuff we have seen him do before. There is a capacity issue in the 7 seas if you go after eight you may queue but we dined at 1915 every night with no problems.
One night we had caviar followed by Lobster Thermidor which is the cuisine we are used to in Hartlepool! Our friends were first timers but they were blown away.
If i had to suggest improvements it would be extra legroom on Thomson planes, cider on draught and, bearing in mind the technological age we live in, free wi fi throughout the ship. We were in 6030 and it clean and adequate in size. All in all a great holiday.

Hi Barry, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your time on the Majesty and the improvement comments you’ve made will be passed on to our Cruise and Airline Teams.

A party of twelve of us cruise on the Majesty on July 27. It would be nice if we could dine together & wondered about the possibility of reserving a table, preferably early doors. If this is not possible could you advise please

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 09/07/2012 at 14:09

Our main restaurant is open-sitting, which means its first come first served. The only restaurant that takes reservations is Le Bistro, the à la carte venue.

Hi, Just witten to Thomson as Thomas Cook are concerned over some of reviews. Letter going to T director from TC Director.
    1; Hand Towels need up-grading
2; Bad Language reported on lift doors.Needs to be removed and repaired.
3; Sheets stained and do not fit well.Again to be up-graded
4; Reports of Pool leaking into cabins on beck 9.Again repair so no problems on 27 July 2012.
5; Windows on Deck 10 reported as needing a good clean.
6 General awareness of situation before 27 July.

Note The Hotel reports are excellent and the general reports for customers are very positive. They look to improve, report and repair. This is the standard which is not much to ask for. No one is expecting a P & O ,Cunard Cruise but general areas as above make or break a holiday. Again simply report back to Thompson .If a problem then up-date me and I will up-date Thomas Cook and I will get the area up-dated.
Staff on the cruise are very , very good so it is not all bad.

It is better to change these small areas before a holiday than moan or put in a claim which no body wishes.
    Look forward to a up-date.on the ship……………………………………..

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 10:01

Hi Ray, I believe my colleague Jiven is currently investigating this for you and has contacted Thomas Cook to make them aware of this. You can expect to receive a reply shortly.

      • ray Baird, Booking ref; 651576 says: 06/07/2012 at 11:46

Thanks, The reports are getting better. Staff are great and the Hotel reviews are great. Best to be improved as this may be the last holiday for a while. Skint.
        Thanks

We’ve booked and chosen two outside cabins next to each other on deck 6 for our cruise in August. How much would it cost to upgrade to two outside plus cabins on deck 6?

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 10:37

Hi Karen, Unfortunately it’s not possible for me to offer quotes through the blog. If you booked in a travel agent, give them a call and they’ll be able to advise you of the cost. If you booked directly with us online then simply call our Cruise Team on 0871 231 4908.

Hi Thomson, We are on a cruise and stay this month aboard The Majesty and then on to Hotel Thomas in San Stephanos. One question please. Packing for what is in effect 2 separate holidays means that i could do with knowing if the hotel in Corfu supplies pool towels as i do not want to pack these unnecessarily. Thank you

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 10:40

Hi Sue, Unfortunately the hotel do not offer pool towels, however there will be towels for use in the rooms. I hope you have a wonderful time.

      • Jackie says: 09/07/2012 at 18:44

I understand pool towels are available at Thomas Bay for 5 Euros per week. Saw this on Thomas Bay Facebook account.

  6. John says: 30/06/2012 at 12:43

Hi Rhiannon, spent a week on the majesty, from the 8th june,on the “pearls of the aegean” cruise. This was our first cruise,so cannot compare with others. We had a fantastic week, the crew so friendly as were the majority of other passengers.Meals were great, although if you got on a table with slow eaters you could be there for two hours. We has the “AI” package which was great. We found the cabin great (junior suite),a minutes walk to the sun deck and 20secs to the observatory bar.The ports of call were fantastic especially Santorini and Athens.Only criticism is why do you have to keep signing for drinks when you are “AI”.
So if any first timers are going you will love it.

  7. keith Davies says: 28/06/2012 at 23:17

Have taken the all inclusive option and know premium drinks are excluded. As is usual with all inclusive, draught beers are always included and on our last thomson cruise in 2010 draught strongbow cider was included.Have heard that thomson have cut back on range of all inc drinks and wonder if thEy have withdrawn draught cider as part of their costcutting?

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 14:30

Hi Keith, Unfortunately we don’t offer draught cider onboard the Thomson Majesty but this is available by the bottle with a supplementary charge. The drinks package includes selected draught beers, spirits, aperitifs, house wine, soft drinks and a range of cocktails. Branded spirits and premium drinks such as Champagne, malt whiskies, ciders and bottled beers, speciality coffees and bottled water, aren’t included. Some branded drinks are included in the package, some have a small supplementary charge, and others aren’t included. For example, Smirnoff and Gordon’s are included in the package.

      • Mark Brain says: 07/07/2012 at 14:53

I have just read that the range of drinks offered on the AI package on the Majesty is much smaller than that offered on the Dream. Is this true and if so why?

      • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 09/07/2012 at 14:08

The range of drinks included in the All Inclusive package does vary across our ships. Thomson Celebration and Thomson Dream are slightly different to Thomson Spirit and Thomson Majesty. You’ll find most of the same drinks are available. Some branded drinks are included in the package, some have a small supplementary charge, and others aren’t included. For example, Smirnoff and Gordon’s are included in the package but Absolut has a £1.15 supplement.

feel let down by thomson re change of ship destiny to majesty. its their take it or leave it attitude that gets me. was told cancel if you dont want to go. and always that old one small print!!

  10. Gareth Rickard says: 26/06/2012 at 11:48

We have travelled with thompson cruises in the past and have always found them to be very well organised ,i have just booked again to travel on the majesty for the july sailing and am very much looking forward to it.My one complaint is though i booked a sailing for the palma port but then changed my mind and chose the corfu sailing which i altered only the day after and was charged £100 for the privelidge ,cum on Thompsons i was not even informed of the extra cost when rebooking it was not until i had a confirmation email did i realise

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 14:32

Hi Gareth, I’m sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with the amendment charges. These are set out in the terms and conditions that you agree to at the time of booking. You should have been informed of this at the time of making the change. Did you do this online, through a shop or by calling our cruise team?

  11. Rob Harvey says: 25/06/2012 at 12:58

Don’t go on ship pay the £50 and transfer to another, wish we had, this is 2 star cruising at star prices.
We have been on the Dream and the Celebration, far superior.

    • ian wilson says: 01/07/2012 at 18:50

Never been on the Dream, but have been on Celebration, this ship is better than the Celebration. Yes it does have its problems like lack of deck space, but entertainment was fine, but please change the comedy acts on a more regular basis, this was my 3rd cruise with maxwell Plum and although he is a good act he gave me the same jokes/show as the other times. Bars were clean and staff very helpfull.Had an inside cabin forward section no noise and slept very well.met a lot of good people and had an excellent holiday.

For the doubters this was my 12th cruise with thomson and as I said apart from the Dream ive been on all the ships, I was a Destiny lover but would not hesitate to go on the majesty again.Remember people make your holiday, closely followed by the weather, go on this ship and do what i did ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. E Watson says: 25/06/2012 at 12:07

Booked on Thomson Majesty 6th July can you let me know if you no longer send booklet with flight /cruise tickets and ports of call tours as tickets now e-tickets as as yet no booklet as arrived and does not say anywhere that this booklet no longer supplied

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 01/07/2012 at 15:06

You will no longer receive a ticket booklet as we’ve now moved over to e-tickets so that’s all that you’ll need to take with you to check-in. Some customers also like to take their confirmations along with them too but your e-tickets are all you’ll need.

      • Mark Brain says: 07/07/2012 at 14:56

That’s a shame. We always liked receiving the booklet. You always knew that when the booklet turned up in the post your holiday was not far away and somehow it seemed more real.

Hi just returned from a week on the majesty, great food great entertainment, great service what more do you need, it was our 18th. Thomson cruise and it did not let us down, the ship could do with a bit of TLC re funiture, not very comfortable, and well worn, but that was the only fault and did not spoil a great weeks cruising,

    • J.lowe says: 25/06/2012 at 20:18

Hi just returned from our 1st ever cruise and stay on the Majesty and have to say what a fantastic time we had. We did the Pearls of the Aegean 8th-15th June and even though we have nothing to compare the ship too we were very impressed with the service we received. Our cabin was an inside plus on deck 3, and was plenty big enough for the 2 of us, (not sure it would fit 3 people in). Our cabin was spotless and the cleaner was always there to keep it clean, with a surprise towel model waiting for us sometimes.
The food and service was excellent in the Seven Seas, and San Marco was nice for dinner if you did”nt want to go down to deck 5.
We took the drinks package and found it well worth the money, my wifes favorite being the frozen cocktails, and at £4.35 a go, they soon mount up along with the wine beer and smirnoff. The staff and entertainment team work so hard on this ship and it is paying off.
The entertainment in the Jubilee Lounge is good so long as you can get a seat, It only holds 600 people and once some get a seat after tea they tend to stay in them, so if you go in after a later tea you cant get one. We didnt really find this a proplem as we just went to another bar. There is other things going on, eg piano, quizzes, we liked the royal observatory were JD keeps you entertained.
All in all we had a great time and will be cruising with Thomson again and most likely the Majesty!!!!

      • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 01/07/2012 at 15:16

I like the sound of the frozen cocktails, J. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. It’s great to hear what a fantastic time you had and we hope to welcome you on to one of our cruises again soon.

  14. Ann Knowles says: 24/06/2012 at 17:05

Could anyone tell me how much the bar prices are on the Majesty for example a glass of wine, a pint of beer, coffee and cocktails

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 01/07/2012 at 14:25

Hi Ann, Our prices are subject to change but drinks prices onboard are similar to UK pub prices. You’re looking at around £3.50 for a pint of beer and £4 for a glass of wine. And all our ships are cashless, which means you pay with your onboard account card.

  15. Jenny Dawson says: 23/06/2012 at 21:12

My husband & I have just returned from a two week cruise & stay holiday, the first week was on the Thomson Majesty on the Pearls of the Aegean Itinery. We booked in May 2011 to ensure we got a suite with a balcony, as we wanted something special to celebrate our silver wedding on board. We were very disappointed with the news of the ship change because the majesty has no balconies and despite the refund we were given, we felt that we were treated shabbily by the cruise team (there was also an error made by Thomsons on the hotel part of our holiday) and had little choice but to accept the alternative of a junior suite on deck 9. We decided not to make waves before the holiday but to go with open minds, we didn’t want any negative thoughts in our minds before we boarded as we knew that would influence our first cruise experience. How right we were to go with that attitude! We had the most fantastic time on board and visiting the ports of call. All the Majesty crew – housekeeping, waiters, bar staff, reception, entertainment team- were fantastic. (Thanks to [Sponge-Bob] for tucking in the tags on my dress before our visit to the Bistro, and for the tip-off to the waiters that it was our anniversary – we had a wonderful evening!! Hope your maxi dress arrived!) Food was excellent, plentiful and in our experience always hot!! There was plenty to keep everyone entertained no matter what their tastes, the singers & dancers put on some good shows (Well Done to dave & graham on their first Simon & Garfunkel set – it was excellent!!) Our towels & bed linen were certainly not grey, stained or threadbare as has been reported in other posts, and the maintenance team were busy every day keeping on top of painting and on-going repairs that are inevitably required on a continually occupied floating hotel. The only minor complaint we had was the state of the windows and glass screens on board, it would have been nice to look at the view without smears but that hardly ruined what was a truly fantastic & memorable holiday. To sum up what has been a very long post, It is unfortunate that the office based cruise team don’t have the same regard for customer service that the crew on board the Majesty have. They could so easily have put our minds at rest had they taken the time, but we were subjected to the “take it or leave it” attitude reported by so many other bloggers. They could have easily spoiled a hard-earned & eagerly anticipated holiday before we even left home – so glad we didn’t let them!

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 01/07/2012 at 14:23

Hi Jenny, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your time on the Majesty. Thanks for sharing your feedback and we will take your comments onboard.

We are on the adriatic explorer cruise. We have heard that in certain ports you are unable to serve alcoholic drinks due to local tax laws. Does this affect any of the ports we dock in and if so which ones. Can we still get alcholic drinks in our all inclusive drinks package at these ports if any?

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 02/07/2012 at 10:44

Hi Shirley, There aren’t any ports on the Adriatic Explorer itinerary where we are unable to serve alcoholic drinks. Hope that helps.

  17. David Glencross says: 21/06/2012 at 16:34

Hi was on the Majesty from 1st June – 8th June have got to say enjoyed my cruise but there are a few things i was not happy with.Having booked onboard The Destiny last year in June `11 paid for a room upgrade then was given the smallest cabin i have ever been in on deck 8 (850),people we meet on board had better rooms Outside plus without paying for them, surely people who had booked on Destiny a year before should have been looked after better. Also the change to Kotor seemed ok till you tried to get of the ship, berthed well out to sea with not all the tenders working, went to get of at 10.15am to be meet with a queue from deck 2 to near enough deck 5 stood in it for 30 minutes with very little movement if i had been lucky to get of the same queues were at the other end and with the ship leaving early would it have been worth it. Be Aware go down early if you want off. Apart from these moans enjoyed cruise sure i will be back for more next year.

  18. Tom says: 21/06/2012 at 15:50

Hi is there information on the ship to help those who want to make their own way on the ports of call, also is the distance from the port in corfu to corfu town walkable.

    • Amanda @Thomson says: 04/07/2012 at 13:26

Hi Tom, Our Destination Services Team onboard are your local destination experts and will help you in any way they can. All our ships have a full stock of maps for each of the ports we visit, as well as some local information. As for Corfu Town, it really depends on your level of ability whether you consider it to be within walking distance of the port. You can follow the coast round and head inland when you get to the fortress. But it’s mostly up hill and can be hot work in the Greek sun. It’s about a 40-minute walk and there are always plenty of taxis around.

  19. Darren says: 21/06/2012 at 14:44

Hi, my wife and I are booked on the Adriatic Explorer on the 29th of June, as this is our first cruise please could you tell me what the dress code is for evenings and meals as we really dont know what to pack and what is and isnt acceptable.

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 22/06/2012 at 12:14

      Hi Darren,

On our cruises, the dress code is smart casual for evenings. For men that means full-length trousers and a polo or open-necked shirt. At the Captain’s Cocktail Party, the dress code is traditional dinner wear, so tuxedo or suit and tie for men, and evening dress for women.

I hope that helps and you go on to have a great time.

    • David Glencross says: 22/06/2012 at 19:54

Been on a few crusises and as Rhiannon says smart casual is the norm but for the Captains night the only thing different i have done is wear long sleeved shirt with a tie which is very common nowadays, must admit suit is nice but for one night with your luggage being restricted to 20kgs nowadays i wouldn`t bother up to yourself.

  20. Rob Harvey says: 21/06/2012 at 12:46

We have written 3 letters of complaint, one before the cruise of which we were not given the option of cancelling and 2 letters since, one reply of which I still feel we are being fobbed off!
Please do not reply apologizing as it is not enough and is now wearing thin!

    • Rob Harvey says: 25/06/2012 at 12:22

Whats up, you don’t like truthful comments posted on here?

      • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 01/07/2012 at 15:07

Hi Rob, It’s a very small team that monitor this blog so I’m just going through the comments now so any that have been made in the past week will be approved and responded to where necessary. Hope that helps.

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 30/06/2012 at 16:05

Hi Rob, I’m sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the service you’ve received. If you’ve now contacted our After Travel Team then they do have 28 days from receipt to respond to any complaints. And if you’ve been unhappy with the responses you’ve received you would need to discuss these directly with the After Travel Team to reinvestigate. If you have any further questions regarding the complaint procedure then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi All, there are 3 of us going on the Majesty cruise on 27th July and we are all first timers. im wondering about the drinks package that is on offer would you have an idea of what type of drink this covers??
is there Cidar on board?? Coors?? Cocktails etc???…. thanks

    • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 22/06/2012 at 12:06

      Hi Barbara,

The drinks package includes selected draught beers, spirits, aperitifs, house wine, soft drinks and a range of cocktails. Branded spirits and premium drinks such as Champagne, malt whiskies, ciders and bottled beers, speciality coffees and bottled water, aren’t included. Drinks are available from all bars, lounges and restaurants. And if you order a drink between 2am and 10am, it’ll be charged to your onboard account.

Have a fantastic time on your first cruise in July.

      • Barbara H says: 11/07/2012 at 21:43

        Hi Rhiannon
we were told by Cassidy travel that the drinks package is an all inclusive and that it would be a good idea to get it. are you saying that even with getting this we would still have to buy water?? etc????
why are Cassidy travel saying that its an all inclusive and we wont need to pay for any drinks on board the ship??

      • Rhiannon@Thomson says: 17/07/2012 at 13:12

Hi Barbara, Our All Inclusive drinks package does not included branded spirits and premium drinks such as Champagne, malt whiskies, ciders and bottled beers, speciality coffees and bottled water and you’ll find this detailed in our A-Z guide in the back of our Cruise brochure and on our website.

If you’ve been given incorrect information from a third party travel agent, I’d recommend raising your concerns with them directly to discuss this further.

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 20/06/2012 at 12:16

Hi Mick, As I’m sure you can understand we can’t guarantee to show the matches due to the satellite reception. But if we are blessed and England make it through, we will of course do our best to see if this can be shown.

Just back from 2 fantastic weeks on the Majesty. Like a lot of others we were apprehensive about changes but we have no complaints. Meals in 7 Seas was always served quickly and efficiently as was the wine, the food was superb, the entertainment in the Jubilee lounge, although was not West End style was very good and the Majesty singers were fantastic. Best was Las Vagas, Abba and Killer Queen. Must also add Musikk Unlimited were a fantastic group with plenty of different songs and Julian & Clarisa were also brilliant with their dancing piece. All crew members were very helpful and our cabin stewards were always on the ball with tidying up. We also had 4 towel models in our cabin over the 2 weeks, a dog, ET, a snail and a monkey. Overall a very pleasant holiday with no complaints. Well done Thomson. We’ll be back!!

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 20/06/2012 at 10:41

Hi Joy and Jim, I’m really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time onboard the Majesty. Thank you for your feedback, I’m sure other customers will find this really useful. We look forward to welcoming you back onboard in the not too distant future.

We have just returned today 6th june, this is our third cruise and the best and agree with everything and more.

  25. Margaret S says: 18/06/2012 at 20:47

The current statement re all inclusive is misleading as when trying to assess the booking and payment for Thomson Majesty cruise next June, it does not make it clear whether this is actually only half board or AI??

    Statement says:-
Free all inclusive upgrade – applies to summer 2013 itineraries on Thomson Celebration, Thomson Majesty, Thomson Dream and Island Escape, as well as Thomson spirit Paphos sailings. Offer applies to new bookings only, must be selected at the time of booking and is valid for time onboard ship only. Customers will not automatically be upgraded from Full Board. Some exclusions apply to the All Inclusive package. Offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn without notice.

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 20/06/2012 at 13:48

Hi Margaret, I’ve just made a dummy booking on our website and can confirm that the Majesty is full board as standard. If you’re entitled to a free of charge All Inclusive upgarde this will show as £0.00 in the pricing panel on the left hand side. I’m sorry if you feel this is unclear. If you’re unable to see whether the All Inclusive upgrade is available for the dates you’re trying to book, I’d suggest giving our Cruise Team a call on 0871 231 4908. I hope that helps.

      • Margaret S says: 23/06/2012 at 14:02

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve booked the cruise since my query as a family member (ex Thomson employee) confirmed the all inclusive was free. Now looking forward to our trip next June.

Some unbelievable comments. We, my wife and 2 children were on the Adriatic cruise 1st – 8th June. We had been on the Destiny last year and we all felt that the Majesty has far more plus points. Greater choice of bars and restaurants. Yes, the entertainment had some drawbacks but from what we saw people were still filling the theatre night after night, so it wasn’t that bad. The service was excellent everyday. Our cabin was 50% bigger than that on the Destiny. The ports of call were fabulous – I notice people on blog complaining about not being notified about the change from Brindisi to Kotor; get a life! You will find Thomsons are LISTENING and REACTING to much of the soap box advice some whingers have enjoyed giving. My message to those looking forward to their holiday is you’ll enjoy it. The Majesty is, in our opinion, an upgrade.

I found it necessary to send a complaint re the Thomson Majesty maiden cruise I sent a letter via the shop in Cwmbran over a month ago and have heard nothing

Hi Peter, I’m sorry to hear you’ve not received a response regarding your After Travel complaint. Our Teams do have 28 days to respond to any complaints once they’ve been received so I’m unsure as to why you’ve not received a response yet. If you can confirm your booking reference with us then we can have a look on our systems to check the status of your complaint.

Please can you tell me if it’s possible to purchase a drinks package on board? I was not informed of this by my travel agent and have been told by former travellers that it is cheaper than paying each time. Also when drinks etc are bought is a receipt given each time so we will be able to keep track on what is being spent?

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 18/06/2012 at 13:42

Hi James, All inclusive drinks packages must be purchased before travelling for every passenger on the booking. You can do this by contacting your Travel Agent. If you don’t have the All Inclusive drinks package each time you purchase a drink, when you hand over your onboard account card, you’ll be given a receipt from the barman.

You are given a slip whether you are AI or not for all onboard purchases, no cash changes hands. If you are AI the slip will show your purchase and a zero total. If it is something that is not included in the drinks package it will show the amount.

Does anyone know if the standard outside cabins have hair dryers?

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 18/06/2012 at 10:45

Hi Janet, There is a hairdryer in every cabin, you’ll need either a US or European two-pin adaptor – or both adaptors as there are two plug sockets.

We have just returned from the Pearls of the Aegean trip 8th – 15th June. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Food was good – we ate in the Seven Seas, where the staff did their utmost to get us a table for two – and only comment I would make is that the breakfast has room for improvement. Cabin 346 was small (we did have to dance round each other to get ready!). All onboard staff cannot do enough for you and are so friendly. Entertainment was fine, and Carlisa and Julian are amazing to watch. Wouldnt recommend Robin Good – he is bad! – in a bad way with really dated material (a talented man but in need a revamp!). Great ports of call – plenty to do each stop, great organised tours and also with plenty of information provided by Thomson if you wanted to make your own way around. Great value for money.

Hi Linda, I’m pleased to hear you had an enjoyable cruise. Thanks for your feedback, I’ll make sure it’s passed on for you.

ive just returned from majesty and having read all the poor comments was not v happy about the ship but from the moment i boarded the ship i was really surprised, the ship is lovely, its v clean lovely, white towels, the staff are as usual excellent. the food excellent. our cabin was the biggest we’ve had but did see some that were v small. now comes the downside the open plan sitting is not working, please go back to fixed time sittings. everyone i spoke to said the same cant understand why it go changed. but all in all had a fab time and would go on the ship again.

Can you lift money on the ship with your card ???

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 18/06/2012 at 15:48

Hi Janice, Our ships are cashless, with the exception of the casino, so it’s not possible to withdraw money with your account card.

Hi I booked the Destiny in June 2011 for a July 27th 2012 Departure for my family of three as we have been on over 12 Thomson Cruises I am not getting a warm feeling with regards the comments I have seen around the Majesty.
A lot of reports around poor entertaiinment and small cabins compaired to the Destiny on Deck three. i am concerned as these changes were brought about outwith my control can I have a full refund of my holiday.

    • Hollie @Thomson says: 18/06/2012 at 12:24

Hi Darren, I’ve replied to your comments on your other post.
